Dragon Age 2

Anyone else looking forward to this game? I played the demo the other day, I liked the evolution from the first game...

For anyone who doesn't know, this is the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins, an RPG game which was massive, tons to do and loads of choices about how you did it...Any other fans?

I rented the 1st one. But because I rented it, I didn't give it a proper chance. It was one of those "I'm giving it back so why should I care?" I'm a fan of RPG's go and I hear this is one of the best so I'm tying to buy it to give it a real play through.

This release is inferior to Origins because of the repetitive "cut-and-paste" scenery. Granted, the game is quite beautiful in appearance, but beauty is only skin deep. Of course, as expected based on the companies past releases, the gameplay was smoother than a toddlers ass (and I would know), but within the polish, I found myself bored after moderately short play sessions. Although the story dragged me back by the neck, strangling me with it's textual complexities, and deep, engaging conversations, but ultimately the game wasn't a step forwards for the series. It was more of a step sideways.

Any RPG fan will enjoy it. Hell, action game fans that enjoyed games like Oblivion or The Witcher will enjoy this as well. It's easily an 8/10, but not as expansive as it's predecessor.

^^The step sideways comment more or less said it all to be honest, the dumbing down and removal of certain features, combined with characters I just don't find as likeable as those from the first game (with the exception of Fenris) felt like a definite step backwards. On the other hand, the story and improved combat mechanics felt to be an improvement - the combat feels a lot more fluid, and the choice elements of the story have much more interesting consequences....

Plus, playing as a mage still feels as awesome as ever, lol.
