Yeah it took me a very long time. I got to him yesterday and found him unbeatable so I was forced to grind. It was the only way though so I basically grinded for hours today. I'm happy to say that by the time I was done grinding I was powerful enough to get him down to half health before he even changed form. That's basically the trick, if you can do that and keep your party constantly healed while staggering him a lot then you're good.

Lmfao that's also where I left my FF13 game at, the save right before that fight.

Was seriously about to do the same but I said fuck it and went for it...I completely understand where you guys are coming from though. That fight was fucking ridiculous. I was cussing at my TV all day I was so pissed lol. And when I beat him I yelled "AHAHA FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" very loud and flipped him off.

I have a very strong feeling I'll get stuck at the next Barthandalus fight lmao. Or on Orphan.

I bought this, but im at uni so i'm unable to play it. Got the guide too, which is what i do with every Final Fantasy. I wanna hear some thoughts about the gameplay, and the linearity, for me the main issues was not enough open world, not fucking mini games etc which they put in. Thanks.

If you played FF13 then I'm sure the sequel plays just like it...except in this one I saw online that if your party leader dies it's no longer game over (thank god, that shit's gay in the first one) and that there are many possible endings...I just wanna get it and play it, it strikes me as a very long game as well.

Finally bought this game two days ago and I really like it. I like the new character that they introduced. This game seems more "Final Fantasy"-ish to me than the original 13 did. Waiting on FF Versus 13 now...that one is probably gonna kick so much ass.

Not necessarily open world, but the dialogue presents open choice, making different endings possible. It would be set up like:

Something is wrong with Noel, what should I say?
Y = He has herpes; X = got a girl pregnant; B = I wonder where Lightning is?; A = Take out his dick and suck it to make him feel better

And depending on what you say changes the dialogue and opens up many possibilities...it's still fairly linear like the first game, but you can choose where and when to go when you wish. And as I said it also feels more like an FF than the first game.

It doesn't do it for every dialogue though, it only does it for about 1/3 of it maybe? Idk I'm nowhere near completing the game lol. I'm only judging from time played that it will be about 1/3 of the dialogue is choice.
