Edit: Btw people, I know that that doesn't necessarily make it better. There are other reasons. Storyline, the characters, the dialogue. So many factors make GTA4 the best one so far, not just the graphics.

San Andreas wasn't that fun to me is the thing...I had it DL'ed on my Xbox and deleted it not long after. Yeah it had humor and ridiculous situations, which is important in GTA games, but then again so do the other ones including 4. I think Saints Row 3 was funnier than SA, for instance.

It must just be me and I'm weird, I just never really got into SA like I got into the other ones. This game is universally acclaimed too and I wish I could like it but I don't. It's like how Miller doesn't like any of the Zeldas except for Link To The Past.

That's why GTA 4 is better? The cars dent more realistically? That's retarded. San Andreas is way better than 4.

That's not what makes 4 better, that was kinda a tall statement from him...yeah the graphics and physics play a part in it but also 4 has smoother gameplay, a better storyline, better characters, better dialogue and situations. Taste plays a huge part but it seems to me many people overate SA because of nostalgia is the main thing. Because if we're looking at mechanics, professional reviews (game reviews are different than music reviews), and all the other factors we must consider GTA4 wins in many categories. SA could be "more fun" or "entertaining" than 4 but that doesn't necessarily make it better since when it comes to THAT, taste does play a huge factor. SA isn't fun to me and didn't hold my attention while it's fun to all of you. Not everyone is the same. So as far as entertainment goes you could maybe argue for SA's case but if we take EVERY factor, not just our opinions, then I believe that GTA4 would overshadow SA greatly.

Here's how I rank the GTA games that I've played :

San Andreas > GTAIV > Vice City > Chinatown Wars > Liberty City Stories (PSP) > GTAIII > Vice City Stories (PSP)

I like both GTAIV and San Andreas. It's really close.

San Andreas had more breadth, variety and diversity, whereas GTAIV was more focused. Both paid great attention to detail.
