^ haha yeah. I've seen everything in FF13 because everything leaked in the other FF forum I'm in. Like, trailers, battle systems, character developments, etc. I saw how it developed for at least a year. :p

Word man, you got me excited for the game now. LMAO. :o

Lol, see I didnt see one trailer or anything till december. I knew I was going to be getting the new slim ps3 so I decided to see when it would be released. - come to find out it was today I was like :o

Then I wiki'd it and read everything and saw 2 trailers, the one for the game that was released today, and the versus one that is coming out sometime ( which btw - I dont think they should make a second game of the same world unless the public demands it - ffx2 was miserable and making a second installment of a game that hasnt even been released is a gamble - Now a second ff7 or 8 would sell like hot cakes ) , but anyways, read up on it and was excited.

Now im playing it and its promising. like i said though, im not sure i like the technology aspect of it, I like it better when its more about magic and walking through the woods and shit...But I havent played enough of the game to see exactly how it is. But the gameplay graphics are awesome and the battle system is fun and keeps you on your toes :y:

I never played a FF game in my life, never even saw someone play it. Whats the appeal? I like games with good storys, i like RPG's (i only played western RPG's though).

Someone tell me why i should buy this game?

Generally because Final Fantasy games have some of the best character and story developments out of a lot of games I've played.

Final Fantasy 7: This game is purely epic, characters all have their own plots and it all comes together nicely.

Final Fantasy 8: Another good game but I can honestly say I wasn't a huge fan of the Drawing magic system, story on the other hand was good, not as intricate as FF7 though.

Final Fantasy 9: Great game, I'd forgotten until recently how much I liked this game, even though the graphics seemed like a step down from FF8 at the time, a bit older and wiser makes me realise what Square were aiming for.

Final Fantasy X: This game was awesome, the Sphere Grid was one of the best idea's I've seen put into a game, it allows character development in a whole new realm compared to the other games. Story was tight and everything flowed together perfectly. The plot was good enough to keep you playing to see what was going on.

Final Fantasy X-2: They ripped off FFX just to make some more money as far as I'm concerned, a couple of the ideas were good but over all the mission based system and the very weak characters just made the game boring as hell.

Final Fantasy XI: Good game, hardcore MMO, it's not for people with a lack of time that aren't willing to spend the time learning the game and levelling up, the curve on it is crazy, some of the social features are really lacking. Overall it's not the best MMO I've played but it is good :)

Final Fantasy XII: I found this game weak to be fair. Nothing to do with the battle system, I just REALLY couldn't get into it, maybe I was in a bad place at the time and it was an awesome game but it was just blah at the time and haven't touched it since (compared to the others which I've completed umpteen times :D). The battle system I did like but it reminded me of an MMO battle system so it felt quite gutting playing a game with the same type of battle system (which is a really dumbed down system compared to FFX).

Final Fantasy XIII: This game is awesome. The graphics are sexy enough to make your mouth water and just the tiny amount I played last night (a couple of hours) the game is awesome, visuals, characters all have a nice back-story so far. I haven't delved much further into the game but I can honestly say what I'vep layed so far is awesome.

Final Fantasy XIV: I think this game will be something to rival a lot of MMO's :) I think Square learned their lesson with Final Fantasy XI realizing they limited their pool of cusomters to three markets:
-People that hate WoW
-People that love Final Fantasy
-People that have a lot of time on their hands

Final Fantasy 1 - 6: All very good games with great stories behind each of them, if you don't mind playing vintage games with less than spectacular graphics then definitely worth looking at these.

If you enjoy RPG's you need to get a final fantasy game.

I was like whats the big deal too, then somebody handed me FF8 for the ps1 and i didnt stop playing it until I beat it, and when i did beat it i was sad. Its like reading a really really good book, but instead of imagining all the visuals they are beautifully shown on your tv.

I got so attached to the characters in FF8 that it was a done deal, played every FF game 7 and up and I get them as soon as they come out every time. Got FF13 yesterday and I got 4-5 hours invested.

love it.

you gotta try the game man, you can download FF7 and 8 for the PC from torrent sites

This...

Is the XBOX version split onto three disks? If so that cheers me up a lot :)

p.s. - this game is in a very technological world so far. Im not sure how much I like that, since my favorite thing about ffx was the pre-tech/religious theme.

@guta - yeah ffxii was good, like I said, i loved the battle system but other people hated it.

They kind of blending the old style fighting system with the ffxii fighting system in this one.

Its real time but you actually go into a battle scene rather than just runnin up to people and attacking. I like it....

It reminds me of ffx-2 , but that was a long time ago so Im not sure how similar it is.

isnt the storyline of the contrasting worlds ? the techno world and then the more raw world ?

anywae i havent played it read reviews mixed opininons..although goin by everything ive read and heard (and thats alot)

my opinion stays firm, the enix influence in the legendary gaming company that is squaresoft has slowly been killing everything that made squarsoft great from the off put.

the the truly RPG defining FF games (post snes) 7 and 10 both squaresoft, 10-2 ? square enix (sucks) FF online ? meh...all these gazillions square enix half assed games that take one little good aspect of the FF series completely over use it, forget everything else and then release it as a mediocore rpg game, then the milking of all squaresofts truly great games ( every FF on snes even chrono trigger)

my proof of this, every single FF has its faults but the one truly thing that has always stays amazing, is the characters, the characters interactions, how you end up "caring" for the characters, the storylines, even the romance has always been there.

and since enix joined, the last 2 mainstream FF efforts have been great in ALOT of places, the main faults from fans...the characters and the storylines. enix games always had great graphics..great battle systems...but there story's never reached that of final fantasy, and thats why back in snes time, although tales of series has excellent graphics for back then and new exciting battle systems..final fantasy still became THE rpg for rpg fans..now enix has its claws in there its sucking what was great out of it.

I had noticed this too to be honest, but so far what I've played of FFXIII is a lot better than both X-2 and XII so I'm hoping for a nice full story :)

Yeah its better then x-2 and xii for sure, ive gotten out of the tech world and im into the actual world and its lookin better. It follows the same theme as X so far though, with the one path to walk on...graphics are good...first 5-7 hours are focused on tutorials and character development.

Looks good
