I have no reason to believe otherwise. It'll be a great console for sure. I have no doubt about that.

I really just am worried about it messing up on me. You know the reputation Xbox had last time around...lol. I've heard on the internet some consoles have had problems but maybe it was the same way with PS4? Idk. I just don't want the thing to fuck up after spending 500 bucks on it, you know?

Got my PS4 last night at Walmart, I was 14th in line to get one of the 50 they were giving away last night. So awesome. Just, awesome.

Review ASAP please. I'm still undecided on which one to get. I think it'll be Xbox One unless PS4 has an overbearing quality that puts it far beyond X1.

So far, it's great. Everything looks sharp and moves very smoothly. Picking up BF4 in a few hours 'cause for some reason Walmart couldn't sell that particular game last night due to some cash register error. I've been playing a little bit of that Warframe game and man that's fun as hell and looks awesome. Netflix design looks SO much better on the PS4.

So far you can't play anything through USB but there is a patch coming to fix that. Disappointing. The PS4 came with a free 30 day trial for PS+ along with $10 to use towards the PS Store. I'm extremely happy with my purchasing decision, I can't wait to sink my teeth into Battlefield!!!

Very weird... my girlfriend went to do the same thing for me and BF4 wouldnt scan or something..?
She ended up buying me assassins creed IV black flag and Killzone instead..
I haven't been able to stop playing ACBF. im a huge fan of the series and this is by far the best so far imo. finally a solid pirate game. Killzone is a very pretty game. standard shooter.. one thing that impressed me was if you find an audio log in the game, the sound comes through the controller. i know wii has been doing this for a while, but it made me jump a little, as i forgot that the new dualshock came with this feature.


PS4 is pretty solid.


Pros:

-Its quiet.

-Its fast.

-I love the fact that you can pause your game at any time, do something else on the console, and then come back and pick up exactly where you left off.

-Although i haven't tried it yet, the share button seems incredibly easy. you can share video or screenshots.

-The touchpad on the dualshock controller is nice. I've only really used it for AC though. You can use it to navigate the map, but i find myself not using it. analog is just more natural to me. I could also see it being an issue for games that require alot of button mashing. just like the xbox button on the current 360 controller, it often gets pressed on accident if you have to button mash. but not really an issue for me.

-You can stream your gaming sessions live for people to watch or you can watch other people game live. This is pretty cool if you wanna check out a game that you're debating buying. its nice to watch actual live gameplay footage to get an idea if you may like it or not.

-Standby mode or whatever it is... you can put the console in a low power state. this is nice if my controller dies, i just leave it in standby mode over night and charge the controller while im sleeping.


Cons:

-There isn't much to do on the console besides basic gaming right now. but ill give it time. Im sure the more time passes, the more apps and cool stuff will become available. although they said it was intended for games, and right now, thats about it.

-One thing that is a bit of a let down is that you can't download custom themes or avatars... but i suppose thats a small complaint.

-PS+ is pretty basic so far... you can browse through the entire thing in a matter of minutes, but again.. its just so early. Im sure it will get better with time.

-Im not a fan of the "light bar" on the daulshock controller... it shines a bright blue light while playing a game. It is really quite pointless if you dont buy the ps eye. it shines bright enough to light up my room a bit if im gaming in the dark. i can also see the reflection in my tv, which doesnt normally bother me, but may distract some people.

-The charge cable for the controller is fucking short AGAIN!! pain in the ass if your controller starts dying, you are forced to sit closer to your tv or take a break if you dont have a second controller.



Should be getting my Xbox day one... will post a small review about that after a few days of using it as well. Can't wait for it!

That's the one I'm most likely getting so I wanna hear as much about it as I can before I make my final decision. PS4 sounds like a great system, I would buy it most definitely if I didn't prefer Xbox.

Great review man. I agree about the charge cord for the controller, WAY too short. I think I heard somewhere that they will update the UI later to enable custom backgrounds, I hope that's true. I really don't mind the blue light on the controller, it took a bit of getting used to I'll admit, but I find it refreshing from the norm. I'm excited for what's to come, especially more of the free-to-play games like Planetside 2. Also, the sooner they update and let us stream stuff from our USB's the better. Now I have to plug my 360 back in whenever I want to watch a movie.

Yeah man. Ill definitely post a review of the xbone when it comes. Ill probably be a couple days, as ill spend some time with it before i jump right into a review.
I have a feeling that the xbox will end up being my main console again, and the ps4 will be more for exclusives.. i like the idea of being able to do lots of things with one console, and the ps4 really is as they advertised, for games mainly and not much else as of yet. But its too early to say.. especially since i dont have the xbox yet haha. maybe ill hate it.. we'll see...
one thing thats kind of upsetting is i read somewhere that the TV portion of the xbox features wont be available outside of the US at launch.. im sure that includes Canada unfortunately, but we'll see.
Ill write a review after i spend some time with the console and make a final verdict.

gotta love how they can improve the consoles with a simple patch though.. the sooner this comes the better.
I almost should have noted the free to play games as a pro for the ps4. I havn't spent much time with them, but i downloaded all of them and tried them out for a few minutes. free games is always a good thing haha.

I didn't say it sucked, I call Microsoft "Microsuck" because of their major flops and money grabbing schemes...and I was a huge Xbox fan, so for me to be bashing them, you know they fucked up, LOL. The make it seem like pushing the input button on your remote to watch TV is so hard and time consuming...'Murica. Give me a break.

About to download Killzone: Shadow Fall in a little bit. I've heard great things, I shall post a thorough review in the coming days. Anybody get a chance to play with the Xbone yet? My friend got it and he prefers the controller over the PS4 (he has both). I'm looking forward to going over to his place to check it out because I really can't see anything being better than the DS4, it's just so comfortable. I thought the 360 controller was the best for years but even playing with that now feels weird to me.

PS4 controller felt really weird to me. I went to Gamestop today and they had one set up. Doesn't seem like a bad system at all. Going to wait to hear things about Xbox One. I'll decide in a week.

I'll buy either one tbh. They both pretty much have the same shit. The only exclusive on Xbox I would even miss is Halo.

This is hands down the hardest decision of my life, bad as that sounds lol. I just cannot choose, I'm 50/50 on both. They both have pros and cons to them. I want them both. Eventually I'll come to own both...I see myself going the PS4 route actually because it's something new...it's been a very long time since I played PS exclusives, since I sold my PS3 ages ago.
