Plot Outline: An action/adventure film set 600 years ago, prior to the 16th-century Spanish conquest of Mexico and Central America, where a man goes on a perilous journey to save his idyllic world.
After producing and directing the most successful independent film of all time, "The Passion of the Christ", Mel Gibson has finished preparing his film, set in Mexico, and that promises to be yet another blockbuster titled "Apocalypto".
Mel Gibson's title "Apocalypto", which in Greek means "an unveiling and a new beginning" , certainly fits with the Mayan definition of the "Fin de los Tiempos" (The End of Times) and which will occur on Friday, December 21, 2012. Apocalypto is scheduled for a planned release in Summer 2006 in the US.
"Apocalypto" has been filmed entirely in the Mayan language and the cast consist of local indigenous Mayan actors.
I must say that I'm not a big fan of those kind of movies because I love action movies but I found it quite appropriate to share this information with you guys. Besides, I love Mel Gibson as an actor like in Lethal Weapon, not as a director
