francesco wrote:I agree this time you were at least reasonable & on point but anytime when you bring the foreign fan card you look ridiculous. You & all Man City fans were as brain washed even before you won the few trophies for the last 3 years... I remember your signature Yaya scored in the Munich's net or something like that. This is more than pathetic & literally middle age shit. You're a nice dude in general but been raised as City fan makes you bitter, unrealistic & at times ridiculous anytime you talk about United & their fans.

The fact you must stop fighting with is... at this point United is one of the greatest clubs in the world & City is still a very small club... less than small in Europe. I don't hate... things are changing & City will most likely have a different status in like 10 years or so... but as of right now it is what it is. Clubs having fans outside their cities & counties is by any mean a great achievement so whenever you bring it as disadvantage you look ridiculous. The connection thing you're talking about it totally irrelevant esp. if you bring it to people who are United fans from when United was still a way smaller club.

I respect your love & dedication to your club but all the rest is total bull. I totally get the point about the joy & pain you've experienced been a fan & that's what football is always all about... again, all the rest is total bull. I won't go into details but I'll just say you're not even close to what I've experienced as joy & pain if we talk about football... I mean it. I would only mention I was a pro football player at hardly 17 & my career ended in a car accident at just 21... I'm way to deep if we talk about joy, pain or whatever connection to football in general or to whatever football club in the world in that matter.

Nothing I said was bitter or unrealistic. We did achieve more than I ever expected over the past 3 years and that does mean that people taking the piss out of us finishing second and potentially winning an FA Cup makes me laugh. I know that we won these trophies because we spent an incredible amount of money, I'm not retarded. That also doesn't bother me in the slightest because football is, has, and always will be about money.

I do hate United, and their fans (in a footballing sense). They are arrogant, entitled, an irony free zone and behave like cocky fucks, 99% of the time. They're also bad losers, because they aren't used to losing. Most of their fans are from abroad, whether that's due to success, I couldn't give a shit. Finally, they've relentlessly marketed the 1958 disaster to forward their revenue.

And I don't really know why you brought up City not being as famous a club as United. Again, I'm not retarded. But I also don't care about that.

Sorry to hear about your career man, what a nightmare. Were you any good?

Like I said you're a nice dude in general, I wasn't implying you are retarded or whatever.
You just act biased as fuck at times as most fans actually which is even normal... I was just saying at times fans like you hate United more than they love City & that's how I went to compare the two teams... but just as a fact, not out of hate or whatever. I'm never biased actually & I always give credit to teams when deserved... even to teams like Lazio or Liverpool I generally hate.
Again... it doesn't matter at all if fans are from abroad or not. Football is too special & beautiful & has no borders & limits. For instance I have friends that have never been to England but love West Ham more than anything even though their team has sucked really bad for such a long time now. It looks stupid at times but they do live for this team... the connection is pretty strong right there.
Don't worry about my thang... it was long time ago. In my opinion I was the best ever lol but other people just thought I was nothing more than just very good.

You're gonna probably hate this... but shout outs to United for their 20th title. Ferguson is nothing less than amazing, I can't fucking believe this shit. If you add his incredible & surreal Aberdeen stint of success to his United career would make him look like an advanced human being or whatever. To me the so many trophies still come second as the way he has given a chance to so many young players & has literally made so many fantastic football players straight outta United's football academy is second to none.

Might be opening a can of worms here...but...

Other than THAT '95 youth team of Giggs, Becks, Scholes, Neville etc. Who else have they produced? since then?

Jonny Evans? Danny '3 goals' Welbeck?

I'd argue that Barca have produced far more. Far more.

Just putting them against Barca's youth academy is great achievement right there. Those are the two teams than produce the most actually... by far too.
United haven't produced as great players since the ones you put out there (you said ETC. but I'll add Butt, the other Nevile & Gillespie too)... but plenty good ones in general actually after that.
Wes Brown & John O'Shea both went to play 400 plus games for United & have both played for England & Ireland respectively... Johny Evans is a very good defended too & will even pass their records... Danny Welbeck & Tom Cleverly have both bright future ahead too... all 3 of them national team players as well.
I could add at least 20 more that play regularly in other Premiership teams now & some of them have caps for England too. On top of my head Richardson as another capped United product.

That was my point actually... you can't only wait for like 30 years to find someone super talented to give him a chance... you have to give more chances & to make even not that super talented but still good players fit into the super talented squads. That's exactly what I meant & this is the whole point of football actually.

 I'm certainly not comparing them to Barcelona. United have not produced a World Class player in their academy since Giggs, Beckham, Scholes and so on. That's almost 20 years ago. Just pointing that out as it is a common mistake that people make to claim that United produce great players in their academy.

Again.. that's the whole point & that's why Ferguson is genius. He could give Brown & O'Shea 400 games each & he'd still win trophies on the way while Wenger would buy 10 defenders from wherever in their time & would still win way less trophies.
Plus Giggs & Scholes are still in the team & will be there next year too.
You can't produce players like Becks any other season. lol
The really special things is to give so many kids a chance... like hundreds of them in his time & I don't mean only in the League Cup against Division 2 teams.
Weird enough... as a fact they do produce some great players & you put like 3 of them who are still active & great but still not counting that 'cuz it was long time ago. lol

Agreed about Fergie incorporating lots of average players into his teams. That is one of his great strengths.

It's not weird because if you had read, I said all along, their academy have not produced any fantastic players since that team 20 years ago. Was just making the point, because some people like to claim their academy is up there with the best and it quite clearly isn't. It's not a criticism as they have produced lots of Premier League standard players too, but for a top European Club, they do seem to lag behind others in that department.

Should teams even have academies if they are not up to give a chance to young players. On top of it Ferguson has money to buy whoever but he still gives chance to many kids every year & always finds ways to push some of them into his first team.
Damn... I forgot Fletch when I was naming the ones who made the first team. He's been great before his injury too.
I agree United don't produce fantastic players every year but then again no team in the world does... even Barca in that matter.
Then again... name another team in Engalnd that have produced as many fantastic & just good players for the last 20 years or simply name one that gives chance to as many kids as Ferguson does.
Name another big European team that has sold two players that could match Becks' & Ronaldo's mutual number too.
People don't even realize Ferguson gets a lotta money outta young players he's given just a few chances & on top if it gives them career... other teams don't just miss on that but even pay a lot more money for similar players.
For example (one of tens) Ferguson gave not more than 3 games to Ryan Shawcross, then sold him to Stoke for a little bit over a million & as of right now Shawcross is the captain of Stoke & has been ocassionally been given chances to play for England too. He's not far from playing for some of the big teams in England as well. This is football 101... everyone good enough deserves a chance, not only the greatest ones.
There are other players who have been given more than just few chances at United & have then brought even more money to United than a million... on top of my head Gillespie, Greening, Bardsley, Simpson & Richardson etc. etc.... let alone players like Butt, P.Neville, Brown & O'Sea that brought money back to United after giving it more than 400 games each first.

Jesus christ, that is a really pathetic thing to say.

Hey, why do you listen to Eminem? He is from USA, go listen to some British stuff instead.

What do you have against foreign fans? Football is a universal sport. Who's to decide who we can be fans of or not? I have watched Norwegian football, and I find it boring as hell. There is nothing there that interests me. I've always wanted to visit the city Barcelona (before I was a fan of the team), and suddenly I became a fan after seeing few games around 2002 or something.

Oh, wait, I don't live in Spain. I guess I gotta force myself to stop loving Barcelona and force myself to love a Norwegian team (where none of them are interesting enough for me).

OH SHIT, wait a second. I am not even Norwegian. Jesus... I gotta go cheer for a Pakistani team! Woho.

So yeah, deal with it! Every team from every sport has fans from other countries. Football, basketball, baseball, golf, wrestling, swimming, etc.

In other news.... looking forward to the Bayern - Barca match today.

Some Brits.

Maybe if the teams weren't owned by foreigners and their best players foreigners, hell, maybe if the entire league was being upheld by foreigners, he would have a point.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that, lol. City has only 9 (not even enough for one team) players in their squad who are English (according to http://www.mcfc.com/players)

i don't know why cityfan insists that there are hardly any manchester united fans in manchester? or in the uk?

I've grown up in Manchester my whole life, and yes there were city fans, but ever since I was as young as I could remember up to now, the predominant support is for Manchester United, imo.

I just don't how, why and where people get that stupid idea from?
Manchester United is the most prided football team in Manchester from just a neutral standpoint.
Yes, United have a lot of foreign fans, but that does not at all negate from their home fans at all!
