The feeling of unity, the feeling of actually supporting through good and bad times, the feeling of traveling across the country to see your team lose, the feeling of winning a derby, the feeling of celebrating a victory together with the players at the town square.
Across the country, right? What about those who actually spend money to fly to another country to see their team? Lot of them actually take few days off from work and school just because they are going to another country to see football.
I haven't had the chance yet, but most likely I am going to Spain in autumn to see Barca play.
Oh, and there is another thing I wanna say, but I can't really say much as it's not official yet (but I know about it because I am in the staff of the Barca supporter group in Norway)... Let's just say I will see Barca play a match where I live in the upcoming months
We all have pubs here in Norway where fans gather and yell and cheer and everything during matches. People who fight for their team, even if it's local or from another country. Speaking of that, most people here in Norway do actually follow the Norwegian teams, they have a favourite there too, but they also have "international" favourite. I don't have a local team I support because as I said, I find them boring and never really managed to get into Norwegian football (I have tried).
Oh, and there are supporters for lesser famous teams. There are supporter groups for teams like Malaga, Villareal, Inter, Leeds, etc. here. Of course you won't hear about them because honestly... how many people from other countries do you really know? You just pull out shit out of your asses. Sure, the bigger teams have more fans, just like in any other sport, because those teams are in the media all the time. The lesser famous teams do have many fans, but they're not "loud" like us.
Last thing... most of the people here actually have many teams they follow and support. It's football for them. They will be interested in, and support the teams in La Liga, discuss stuff about them, while their favourite is Barca or Real or Ahtletic or whatever. They don't care about people like you who speak about "true fanzz". They are just as true fans as those who live in the country of the team. They have flown soooo many times to other countries to see their favourite team play. Many of them (in the supporter group of mine) has EVEN MET SANDRO ROSELL AND COUPLE OF THE PLAYERS!!!
I am sick of this pathetic talk about "oh noez, you cannot support a team that's not in your country"
I can't believe I bothered to this... and it's the first thing I did after waking up.
