USA in the past years do seem to have improved, they taught the Spanish a lesson... Anyway, go England!

Damn, 1-1, good for the Americans, lol.

Oh, and, Argentina > Mexico! (If my friend reads this, she'll hit me in the eye like Joe Budden)

Rooney was absolutely terrible. Looked tentitive, like he didn't wanna be there. Must be to do with Capello telling him to calm down his temperament. Worrying, that.

Heskey, Johnson, Terry & Gerrard were the only players who played well to be honest. Lampard was missing the whole game.

Engload goalies making mistakes in big games? How's that suprising?

Shaun Wright Phillips shouldn't even be in the fucking squad. He's a joke. First touch is terrible for a player who's supposedly international class. Lennon was hit and miss. Joe Cole has to play next game

I'm just gunna drown my sorrows with beer.

Torres started scoring more goals when he moved to England. Ronaldo hardly scores more than he did at United.

Quite quick people forgot about Messi's hattrick against Arsenal and his winner against United in the CHL-final. He has been topscorer in the Champions league for 2 or 3 seasons in a row now, and many of the opponent he has scored against have been better than most teams in the Premier League.
I do know football is more than just goals but saying he is overrated till i proves himself in another league is just weird.

Some of the moves he makes would cause ANY team in the world problems. The opponents don't necessarily make him better, he also makes them worse.

Let's not forget the bloke is still only 22.

Having said that I still think Ronaldo is better player, although I admit Messi has had the best season.

In no way is Ronaldo better than Messi. Ronaldo is too fragile and weak when it comes down to a dual, Messi on the other hand doesn't fall that fast. Plus Messi is better than Ronaldo in technical terms. Ronaldo is a stuck up, whiny, attention seeking player, whereas Messi plays with a smile on his face. Messi enjoys playing football, you can just tell when looking at him.

Oh, and yeah, I hate Ronaldo, lol. So I might be a lil' bias.

Only watched the second half of the game but thought England lacked creativity from the flanks. Lennon hardly caused any problems whilst Shaun Wright Phillips did fuck all. In my opnion it was a mistake to let Milner start the game since he is no where near being a great wing, way too heavy and not fast enough (from what I've seen of him).
The central midfield let the americans attack a tad too easily.

Rooney and Heskey were quite anonymous, especially the latter who didn't contribute with anything!

Thought Carragher was dire too.

Joe Cole should have started. More experience. Lennon and Milner were both nervous.

I disagree on Heskey, he won every single ball and looked up for it. Needs to stop straying offside though. Rooney was dreadful though.

Carragher has been dire for the last 2 years. I hate how he "retired" from international football cus he couldnt get a game, then the minute a WC comes around where he has a chance, he's suddenly ready to want to play again. Ironically, he's started playing for England again when he's been in his worst form for L'Pool.

Techniqal terms involves quite many aspects.

So he is a better player cus he smiles?

In my opinion Messi is the best dribbler (may have somthing to do with his centre of gravity) but I find him a tad too one-dimensional at times while I think Ronaldo is more versatile since he can play on both flanks, as an attacking midfielder and a striker. His left leg is as good as the right leg and in the air he is one the best out there which makes him a bigger threat in the last fourth of the pitch.

I'm not saying that Messi is bad at anything I mentioned about Ronaldo, and I'm definitely not trying to take anything away from him. Just for the record.

Messi is versatile as well, but it seems like we agree to disagree. I like Messi more then Ronaldo, you vice versa. Fair enough, they're both great players, that's a given.

I couldn't care less about Ronaldo these days. I found it annoying that he got more attention than the team itself when he was at United, and now that he got his move to Madrid, he is just a player amongst many.

EDIT: Bit of a self-contradiction that I started a Ronaldo debate, I see. Just never really participated in those Messi v Ronaldo debates so I thought, since I disagree with most, this was my time to shine hehe.

I wonder who will be England's scapegoat this year. Green is the obvious choice at the moment but my money would be on Rooney since he can only disappoint due to the unrealistic expectations, as if he is the only player out there that can win games for them.

Would love it to be Terry, Carragher or Gerrard though.
