I get what you mean, but Mancini is right in saying that the club didn't really pursue good enough players in the summer. FFP is an important factor to consider, but surely for the amount they've spent overall for Sinclair and Rodwell, they could have got a solid player.
I get your point Inno but he had great enough roster & it was his fault they didn't buy another striker cuz ridiculously he didn't sell Balotelli in the summer. He had Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko & Balotelli & still asked for another striker.
No team in England started the season with 4 forwards of that quality anyway.
It was the same at Inter... Moratti was buying whoever he wanted for years & he was still crying for more.
That's true. The 4 strikers they had at the beginning of the season was pretty much unrivaled. We've only had 2 strikers at any given time during this season - it's been awful. Torres is occasionally acceptable, and Ba just hasn't been consistent. In the summer, we really need to grab ourselves a new striker unless we plan on using Lukaku. (we should use him, he's potentially world class, not to mention he's better than our current striking options)
I agree with everything you said... it wasn't just about Chelsea too. No team in England had 4 strikers like that when the season started & City had great players in all departments as well.
I'm sure Chelsea's next manager is gonna splash in the summer for sure though so don't worry about it.

Taking a title from Ferguson as well. He wasn't backed in the transfer window this summer and that's been our undoing. But he's a City Great.
I really hope we don't go round the Chelsea route. Let's not forget, our owners have only had 2 managers in 5 years. There's no comparison between the clubs, yet. But it sets an awful precedent that any minor blips will be punished with the sack.
Pelegrino has no track record.
I know man but this is his only excuse... the lack of success before him made him stand out.
He did win the title last year but was less than mediocre in Europe all along for 2 years in a row... he was pretty much mediocre with Lazio & Inter in Europe too. He's never been good enough to build an extraordinary team & City's ambitions are way bigger than what he can offer. I understand y'all like him for what he did but owners who spent such unbelievable amount of money won't wait on him. I mean they probably would've given him another year if he won the FA cup but he blew that too
.
He's had enough time & enough great players to build an extraordinary team but at the end of the day he built a mediocre one.
I agree about Pelegrino though... apart the fact he's still too young so you never now.
