Coentrao, Higuain, Ozil and the boss himself, Varane, playing Football Gold. Aweseme stuff!
That was a cool video.

Something has happened... he's too arrogant.
They sucked Mark Hughes in a worst manner actually... it was kinda ridiculous.

Mark Hughes is a pretty awful manager. He's been with two mega-rich clubs and failed miserably on both occasions.

I'm not even arguing that but do you remember the way they sacked him?

We've been guilty both times of letting the Media find out before we've done the job of sacking the manager.
This time, everyone knew for days-weeks it was coming. It isn't good enough.
No class. Mancini is a club legend and won't be forgotten by the fans.

Hart, Nasri etc (which is no bad thing in itself, just not for the whole world to see). Tevez nor Balotelli's incidents only made him look like he couldn't control the squad at times. Honest truth, apart from the Champions League, Mancini didn't have a bad season. Owners patience snapped after the FA cup defeat. May aswell give Jose a call
Kinda true, but he was so so sooo many points behind United, which on paper, City has a better team than. And also, not winning the FA Cup against Wigan is sack-worthy

We've finished miles ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal with absolute ease, playing fairly poorly all season. We shouldn't take that for granted. We've now gone 3 steps back.
Jose or Pellegrino?
Got to be Jose.

All in all sacking him was inevitable but probably the timing was kinda weird so definitely there is something more than just football reasons behind it. He was arrogant from day one so I guess it all came to a boiling point & that was it.cityfan31 wrote:From a footballing perspective, 2nd and a Cup Final is good for a team new to this whole ' being a good team ' thing. Nah man... a bad season is a bad season & considering his time as a City coach & the budget he got all along in that period means that season was even way more than bad for him & the team.
I am still confused... are City after Pellegrino or Pellegrini?
I thought they were after Pellegrini 'cuz of his success with smaller clubs (esp. in CL) but as you keep mentioning Pellegrino I wonder if they want a young coach & all that.
cityfan31 wrote:I'll be honest, I don't know who he is.
I think, yes we had a relatively poor season. But let's not forget, last season we also got knocked out of Europe, the Cup and the League Cup. And we were one kick away from finishing second.
So there wasn't a huge difference in the end result of both seasons, although we did play better last year.
I think he's gone because of a combination of results, his relationship with the players and the board, and the new Chief Execs who want to build Barcelona II.

Well they might be checking on both coaches actually... like I said one of them had success in CL with smaller clubs like Villarreal & Malaga while the other is very young & promising coach.
Your last paragraph is on point... combination of results & his relationship with the players & the board was kinda poor & CIty obviously aims at something Mancini would most likely never get. On top of all that we can add the way Mancini flirts with the media & points fingers in all directions but his after any loss. The whole thing is good for the team IMO.

For whatever reason, I'm sorry he has gone. But we now have to move on and support the new manager.
This paragraph sums up my thoughts as eloquently as I could hope to myself:
'The vast majority of City fans are deeply upset at Mancini leaving. They don’t care about internal rifts, PR (until now), or how much money we spend. All they know is that the last three years have been the best of our football-supporting lives. Roberto Mancini was the man who brought us our first trophy in 35 years. He was the man that brought us our first league title in 44 years. He brought us one of the greatest moments of our lives. He masterminded a 6-1 win at Old Trafford, and a Wembley win over United. He challenged Ferguson, he argued with him on the touchline, he brought success, and he punched the air in delight with the rest of us at the madness of it all. He had style, panache and a winning smile. He was a perfectionist at an imperfect club. All those memories he gave us will never be forgotten, in a wonderful period in this club’s long history.
And I swear, we’ll never see anything like it again."
Thank you for everything Roberto Mancini.
