Chelsea team:

01 Cech
17 Bosingwa
24 Cahill
26 Terry
34 Bertrand
05 Essien
06 Romeu
15 Malouda
09 Torres
21 Kalou
23 Sturridge

Some major changes there. I'm so glad to see Romeu starting though, he's a huge talent. It's going to be interesting to see how well he play with Essien in the pivot. Betrand gets another run out. His pace will come in handy when defending against Walcott. On the contrary, Kalou.. Malouda.. :(

Bosingwa's just awful. I hope we sell him on and get a replacement. Bertrand has been one of our best players so far, he's been impressing me the last few weeks. I knew he was quick, but he skinned Sagna for pace and his certainly not slow.

Boring game so far though.

fair result i think, damn if newcastle win today chelsea are gonna be struggling for 4th for sure, if newcastle and spurs win then i think 4th is out of reach for them.

It would be unthinkable for Chelsea not to qualify. Who will sign for them? Leaves them in trouble for FFP too. Although you can't be banned from a competition you aren't in, I suppose.

I'm guessing FFP will take a backseat (within reason, of course) in the summer. Players will still want to join Chelsea as we have the money. But believe it or not, top clubs do tend to have a bad season every now and then. Bayern didn't qualify for the CL not too long ago.

I don't think you fully understand FFP though. Although I'm sure you only post those comments to get this sort of response. I don't mind, I'll entertain it. ;)

Well, It is very complicated but this is what I've come to understand. 3 years of monitoring starting next season with total losses over those years having to be less than like £30-40million? In theory you can be banned from the CL but I'm sceptical about that. I suppose if you can prove you are heading in the right direction in terms of losses then they'll be lenient.

Neither City nor Chelsea have got a chance of meeting the target, but neither have lots of other teams across Europe. But CL money will be a big miss for Chelsea. That was basically my point. And you can't exactly claim your club is doing its best to conform if you go and splash out 100 million on players. Which is why I don't think City or Chelsea will buy big in the summer.

EDIT: yes, i do just post these comments to spark debate  :smoking: I'll expect some aimed in my direction when United with the league at the Etihad.

No doubt it's complicated lol.

I couldn't explain Chelsea's FFP situation better than this article. It's very informative and it's where I've got most of what I know about FFP from. Although some of the things stated in the article would need to be revised due to the sacking of AVB and how we need to sign a new manager. I do recommend that you read it, even though it's all about Chelsea, it does explain FFP very well.

If you do read the article, you'll be made aware that technically during June 2010 - June 2011, Chelsea only made a loss of £3.3m as per FFP rules.
