You can't support a foreign team if you don't live there. :flower:

Did you have a nice day out? Visit the "Mega Super Store? Buy a 'Man U t shirt', maybe a 'Red Devils mug' or a 'Busby Babes' pencil case? Watch 'The Boys' from your cushioned seat with your prawn sandwich and commemorative MUFC Scarf? Remember to frame your one and only match ticket at the swamp so you can show your kids you're a true Red Devil in the years to come.

Do you have a problem with foreign fans visiting the stadium of their favorite club or something? You're acting like he's not a real fan if he doesn't go to games regularly. Well, guess what, he's from the fucking Netherlands and can't go to every damn game.

Maybe you said that only because he's a fan of your biggest rival, but still, you have to respect that he invested a lot of money and time just to experience the atmosphere during a United match which is something not a lot of foreign fans can afford.

Lello wrote:cityfan ur one annoying fuck when it comes to this matter... Being a true fan doesn't mean watching games from the stadium. The tears I've shed for Chelsea both in happiness or sadness proves to me that I'm just a True fan as anyone who has been at the Bridge

Let's say there's a bored rich dude who has nothing better to do on weekends, so he spends it watching games at the stadium, does that make him more of a true fan than a guy half way across the world who's dream it is to go to the bridge but doesn't have nearly the financial capability to fulfill it?!

That's the most ridiculous shit that could ever be said about supporting a club....

Call me cynical, but how many people from Holland or Iran or India or China support Macclesfield Town/Ipswich Town/Wycombe Wanderers/Chesterfield/Wrexham?

The answer is not many. That's my point.

I don't understand people supporting the big successful clubs, from abroad. It's too easy. It's a cliche, but it is glory hunting.

I hope I didn't cause any offence to the red, but bear in mind City had just gone 7 points behind them. I was in an irritable mood.

@Cityfan, There are glory hunters, sure, there are many people now supporting for example F.C. Barcelona because they are doing well now , but also there people who support the team since many time ago. and feel the colors, who cares if they are not from Spain? As well as there are many people from Spain leaving now in another countries who support the team. If we act like that I should not support Barcelona neither because that's not my hometown. I should support my hometown team.

Also there are people who are big fans of a player, for example Cristiano Ronaldo, and they will support the team where the player is.

And I went to visit the Santiago Bernabéu and I'm not even a Madrid fan.

Here is how I became a fan anyway

When I was a kid, back in 2001 or something, I used to "like" Real Madrid. I am putting like in " because I really just followed that team because my favourite player was Zidane and he was in Madrid. Plus I also liked Beckham and Roberto Carlos. I had never heard of Barcelona.

Then I started playing some Football Manager game on the computer, 2001/2002 I think it was. I got fired as a Real Madrid manager lol, and Barcelona didn't have any manager so I just became their. Then I started to win matches, and I liked Patrick Kluivert in that game, so that way I started to like Barca... without even knowing how they are in real life

I watched some real matches by them and suddenly just started liking them a lot and

that's how I became their fan... but Zidane was still in RM
I bought him in the game though

So that's how it happened... just because of a manager game lol... I didnt know anything about Barca when I became a fan, and I certainly didn't know anything about the "unwritten rule" about not changing teams (especially not to a rival). I didn't even know they were rivals, lol. Was just a kid.

if it makes you feel better, I become a Barça fan because my first boyfriend was one. I didn't have idea of football, I kinda found it annoying. He made me watch so many football matches that I ended liking it. If he was a Madrid fan , I would probably be one now...

I tend to be faithfull to the things I support so I never changed the team, even if it was in bad moments back then.

Heart rate just about returning to normal.

Joke of a referee today, Kompany clearly got the ball for their first and then he sent of Nasri for absolutely nothing.

Changed the whole match.

Keeps us within...a fair distance ... of United. But not impossible.

As for the supporting foreign team thing, let's agree to disagree. I'll never understand it though.

I think I'd do a little dance if RVP broke his leg.
