but really tho the joke is about a boy that keeps getting 50 cents from a man because the man thinks the boy is dumb, and he thinks that because the man gives him 2 choices and thats take the 1 dollar bill or 50 cents. but the boy keeps taking 50 cents so the man ask him why dont he take the dollar and then the boy says because then the game would be over.

meaning he will stop giving him money because he knows hes not dumb

so really the kid is smart for always taking the 50 cents
