Allow '12 year old AOL' talking on forum?

Have been thinking about this and want your opinions, should extreme cases of '12 year old AOL talk' be allowed on this forum?

I'm talking of posts like these: "dat is rite an very noyin lol" and so on.

The site is universal and I don't think it's fair that those who can type correctly use such language. It makes understanding hard for those who are fluent in English yet alone everyone else, it makes the forum look like it's members are less intelligent, it's often annoying and .. well, should it be allowed?

By the way, I'm not talking about members who can't spell or are from places like holland and have dutch as their main language from example. I'm talking about english speaking people purposely typing in this manner ...

I always try to type proper english, i take a long time trying to type the other way.

Like I said in the other topic, we should all write proper english. All this nonsense really has to stop. It's undecipherable. Let's all TRY to write good from now on.

Just to make it clear I'm only talking about extreme cases as I posted above. I'm not suggesting everyone write as if we were in an English exam. :wink:

not allowed, sometimes it's hard to understand anything and it looks like other language.. i don't talk about these shortcuts like ppl or something, but about extreme cases..

Hey TR, can we have 24 hours where we have to use proper english only? And I mean words that are in the dictionary only. Not ppl, lol, omg, or missing letters like "u r an idiot". And we have to use stuff like capital letters, question marks, commas and periods. The site will really benefit from it.

^ I'd agree the site would definetly benefit form it.

Look at it this way: I put hours upon hours into the site and forum and always try my best to make sure what I write in understand by everyone and is written correctly. The least members could do is put the effort in and write properly too. What I find funny is that we're not asking people to type different, we're asking them to type normally ...

Oh and at times I'd say your close to extreme Alyssa :P Fry I think it would be hard for most to write fully correct but at least trying is all I guess we'd ask. ( I wouldn't include lol as things we should stop .. but omg has to go :wink:

(i think that the 12 year old texting is very bad and should be stoped imediately and i ride g-unit every chance i get)

I'd really appreciate if ppl would start writing more correctly - as you say T it's really hard to understand all these abbrevations for non-native speakers like myself who aren't that proficient in English. Not to mention that it actually does look like ppl are illiterate when they type like that....

And Alyssa, yeah you're bordering on the extreme hunneh (but I know you're not stupid or illiterate :wink:

) But thanx for making an effort to write more correctly from now on so I won't have so many problems understanding your posts
