i don't pay for my software (TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION)

i got vista a while back b4 it was really out and checked it out. I think it is cool the direction there going with dll's and what-not.. so its a good thing. but for now the un-compatability issues out way this, some programs don't work well. The coolest part is the new window display. The desktop is glass like and 3d. so imagine how you could arrage things. Its not full crazy 3d to where its hard or becomes annoying. its just a gen upgrade that is where it should be going.. and obviously will.

However i would NOT recommend vista (from xp [at this time]). maybe if theres some service pack 2 type thing for vista.

The reason i wouldn't recommend it cause the coolest new part doesn't outway the negatives.

and currently there is a 3rd party program that mimics vistas desktop environmnt. also microsoft is rumored to release a update for xp that makes it the same too,, as soon as the vista buzz dies (like a year from now)

.
So I say no.

unless........
You get a brand new computer or alot of new hardware at least for your computer and plan on continues upgrades. New faster/cleaner developed driver upgrades, firmware.. etc... will be devoped for vista.

If you plan on modifiing your computer next by throwing it away and buying a new one, do not upgrade (even if you plan on keeping your current computer for 2years yet)

^^ Most definatlly

and i did understand what you were saing Danaldinho, and your right, you would be able to update for free. However if you run it.. untill that update comes out you'll be up the creek without a paddle for new games and whatnot. by the time games designed for vista start comming out, windows will already have the patch to make it compadable with all games, so it doesn't matter about game design, its just wait'n on microsoft.

not worth just yet bruv...i dont think vista is gonne be worth gettin till late 2007/early 2008 when all softwares are more stable within it aswell as all the bugs.Plus i think to fully put vista to good use you need to upgrade ya pc memory etc etc....so im waiting till i git a job later this year and get it then.
