but in my opinion, a picture of a bug or flower is not "artistic" just because it's close up.

You are entitled to your opinion. But I know that "artistic" is a subjective term, as its usage is based on one's personal aesthetics. I am well educated in both contemporary and historical visual arts. My photography and my taste in art is very distinctive.

I use a Nikon D60 DSLR with 18-55mm, 50mm & 55-200mm lenses, as well as a +10 macro lens filter.

I use Picnik, which is a built-in photo editor on Flickr. All of my new photos were only resized. But some of my old photos were contrasted and saturated.

It's about the angle from where the shot is taken, and how its taken. That's what makes it artistic, a normal person couldn't do what she does, so yes she is artistic. So fuck your negative ass opinion anyways.
