DelinQuent wrote:well basically, these guys HATE anything that sound remotely mainstream. so if you're looking for positive feedback on something that sounds like it could be played on the radio, don't bother.
i'm telling you this from experience, i make full audio songs that tend to sound a little radio, and it gets hated on. but to each his own i suppose.
the best advice i can give to a beginner is to just do you.
DelinQuent wrote:well you're gonna start out terrible, thats just the way it works with making music, all you can do is keep working at it and you'll start to see yourself grow as an artist.
so just do what you do, the way you wanna do it. let no one influence you.
you didnt comment on anything that was mine lol. that would be Pik's that you commented on. me and him do a lot of work together
chet, lol yes i do know this forum pretty well. and what you said about being hated but being yourself also goes for life as well. god damn chet, you should be a philosopher lol
DelinQuent wrote:oh wait, you did leave a comment on mine![]()
also, find a beat, and write to the beat. never write without a beat.
LMFAO@ Brittney, bitch looking worse than a chupacabra mixed with a broken down coyote. You're disgusting ugly, so ugly in fact, my brain simultaneously exploded while processing how bitterly grotesque you look. I would much rather stick ice picks into the walls of my cranium, then stick my dick into your quagmire of a clitoris. You're what would happen if a sperm whale mated with a Godzilla fish..
MC Anonymous wrote:I'm a respected person in this forum when it comes to lyrics/writings, so I will give you advice that I would follow as myself. Be warned that some of the things I say may be useless, but take it for what it is worth
NUMBER 1: Always, always, always be original. Whether it be making punchlines nobody has ever heard of, using poetry in emotional pieces to express your inner feelings in a way where people wouldn't think of seeing, making nice wordplay punchlines that will wow heads, just be original
NUMBER 2: Learn how to use the mechanics of Rap lyricism, they are as follows;
Punchlines/wordplay- When you say things with two or more meanings, or making an ill punchline, heres an example I did. ''Grab, point, click, and release on ya like a mouse'' <-- prime example of a wordplay punchline
Structure:
Instead of making lines look like,
Yo, I'm so ill
you could never ever see this skil
I swallow things like pills
Make it look neater
I'm the lyrical genius, so seamless
mess with me, ya crew is beamless
I'm the ultimate lyrical, so mystical
when I spit, the dope is just typical
Not nearly as if I was actually writing, just for you to understand what I mean.
Similes: You probably already know what these are, utilize them.
Emotion: You must try to give a sense of emotion into your work, if you don't it will be bland and you'll be like every other mainstream rapper talkin' bout useless shit.
Multies: Examples are as follows,
rip shit, skip it, lipids, etc.
Slant rhymes are also good to use, where it sounds like it rhymes, but it doesn't actually rhyme. Rappers do this frequently, and it's only good if you know how to do them. Alphabet is a slant rhyme to architect.
Last one, Flow. You have to make sure your pieces have flow. Which means when you read it you can do it without difficulty, and you won't have to stop and pause to catch the rhythm of the words.
Follows those 2 things, you should be good
