I'm working on my creative writing and since the intro says drop your creative works I thought this would be the best place to put it...it does not rhyme nor was it meant to have a flow, it's just a poem that I wrote that Is a giant metaphor. I want feedback because I want to know if you can find out what the poem is about..or what you feel the metaphor is supposed to support. thanks for any feedback/comments/criticism, It is appreciated.
I cross the path towards the fortress, it can be described as a grand magnificent place. The towers loom over you and it can be quite scary at first. Anyone who has ever been to the castle can tell you it's not so bad once you're inside. In fact it's one of the most amazing places to be. walking around rooms of warmth and stairs of stomach roller coasters is almost overwhelming in the beginning. The Ecstasy that this place causes makes some go mad with enjoyment, and others fueled with rage at keeping the excitement to themselves. Not all individuals can live here forever, and some come and go many times before calling it their final resting place. Others come and go but still never get the chance to call it their home. The people that are exiled or leave from this monument of splendor find themselves never quite being the same. Always feeling that missing link to the place they once called home. The bond is similar to that of an addiction to the world's most powerful cocktail of drugs taken every hour, and then running out of money for three. The lost ones usually find their way back into the stronghold after some time, but only after they find fulfillment in another. The truth is that this house of grandeur is not really a building at all. but rather adheres to the deepest part of an individuals soul. I shouldn't have to tell you what this place is, as I'm sure everyone has been there with me. Enjoy your times in the castle; It is after all the Pursuit of Happiness, bringer of peace, and the foundation of life.
