I write on another rap site and battle a bit, wrote this the other day, thought i'd share it..
A legend dies, and who's even worthy of the throne,
No pun intended, but in a heartbeat he was taken home,
Because talent like that surely comes from up above,
Witch hunts after a guy who only purely gave love,
Tabloids on his back from day 1, it's silly though,
Sum up thousands of articles in one word.. Vitiligo,
Was he Black or White? Believe what we're told,
But i believe that skin colour only covers the soul..
Searching for clearence in appearence, bugs me a bit,
Shame that fame came after being called a ugly kid,
But that wasn't peers, that was his father abusive,
The abuse leered, surgery would never lose it,
Tried hard to leese the disease, problems piled,
People appeal for his release, while papz get riled,
Money grabbers come forward, defending their child,
I ask... who the fuck bargains with a Peadophile..
Only now old foes claim wrong, singing remorsful song,
Took too long to get a conscience, the King is gone,
He was in his own world, he didn't live just to please us,
How would you be if you had fame next to Jesus?
Robbed of being a kid, in the studio next to a park,
Signing a record deal, signed away his childhood in part,
Said he cried seeing them play, while he sang for us,
Gripped him everyday, as a legend evolved from a buzz..
Abused and denied, used millions to find what he lacked,
Children are innocent, they never ask for anything back,
He found comfort on what he missed, papers getting pissed,
Accusations drained him like a deep cut to the wrist,
They stayed by request, didn't thrust them through the door,
But in a world of deciet, no one is trusted anymore,
And what about the parents letting them sleep in his beds,
No problem, until the dolar sign popped in their heads..
Bleaching is a consequence of the illness, he did look a sight,
But sadder people kicked him when he put up a fight,
What would people do if Diana or Ghandi had the condition,
Plead for more funding, go make a fucking petition,
So why did the King get treated different? Give him the stress,
The disease was a hitch, the pain was the press..
So now I call for us to remember something now too far,
Not the tabloid trash portraying a troubled star,
Not the surgery glamorised as if he just went crazy,
Not singular pictures of him showing the crowd his baby,
More the best performer there has ever been to see,
And so to a true genius, the greatest of all time, R.I.P
~Rest in Peace Michael~
