Fate [Poem(Direct)]

Postby gutawafang » Nov 11th, '09, 01:45

We decide our fate,
because it is all part of being a human being.
We ain’t computers programmed to win.
We ain’t machines commanded like soldiers at war.

We have choices.
We have opportunities to prove our worth in life.
We decide our own destiny.
We write our own storybooks.

And we are the same.
We have to reflect on our mistakes so that we could correct them.
We could sin, we could do good deeds.
It is all in our hearts, what we want to do and what we think is right.

Think about it.
If we are humans, what race do that make of us?
I would say we are humans and punks,
seperated but together we live to regret it.

Because we don’t decide our fate even though we do.

Deep shit right there.

It made me think. I'm not exactly religious, but I think everything that will happen and did happen was already written, no pun intended. I mean, think about it, the universe is ALL space and time that ever existed, I think, so there probably is an Earth 60 years from there out there and shows us the future.

Pretend you had a choice of having sex with a girl or not. You got two choices.

A. You have sex and have children. Therefore, you must drop-out from high school (pretend you're in HS) to support the baby along with the baby's mother. Your parents are greatly ashamed and kick you out of the house and you need to do crime to make a living. Your girlfriend has to adopt prostitution to also make money and one day she gets beat to death by a particularly cruel customer. Your baby cannot survive due to undernourishment and the police manage to trace you down through your crimes. You get a life sentence in jail the rest of your life, the whole time regretting that you had sex in the first place.

B. You don't have sex and things continue as they always was.

Before you even made a choice, it was already decided what choice you took, IMO, by some supernatural force or something like that. Therefore, although it seems like we have a choice in everything in life, it was already planned out long before you were born. LONG before...

EDIT: Mind feed-backing my verse as well? No one really feedbacks me. :(
Yo, from the first to the last of it; delivery is passionate/
The whole and not the half of it; vocab and not the math of it/
Projectile that them blasted with; accurate assassin shit/
Me and Kweli close like... Bethlehem and Nazareth/
