upi.com Wrote:WATERBURY, Conn., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Police in Connecticut said a confrontation that started with throwing food ended with criminal charges for a 13-year-old girl and a cafeteria worker.
Waterbury police spokesman Lt. Christopher Corbett said the girl threw vegetables at the worker Rosa Robles, 55, while she was picking up her lunch at about 1 p.m. Thursday at Gilmartin Elementary School, the Waterbury American-Republican reported Wednesday.
Police said the girl, whose name was not released, sat down to eat and soon found vegetables in her own face when Robles returned the gesture.
"How do you like it?" a police report quotes Robles as saying.
Investigators said the girl then punched Robles in the face, starting a fight that left the worker with a cut lip and the girl with a cut lip and scratches to her face.
Paul Guidone, chief operating officer for Waterbury schools, said the girl is on suspension pending the outcome of the police investigation. Robles, who was charged with risk of injury to a minor, assault in the third degree and breach of peace, was placed on leave.
