David Dewees, who taught Grade 10 at Toronto's Jarvis Collegiate Institute, died at the High Park subway station on Saturday, the Toronto Star reported Sunday, citing unnamed sources. He was 32.
Police acknowledged that a man died after being injured on the tracks on Saturday morning, but declined to disclose his identity.
Dewees was arrested and charged Thursday with two counts of invitation to sexual touching as well as two counts of luring, Toronto police said.
He was accused of making "inappropriate contact" with the boys online, police said in a release.
Dewees was alleged to have committed those offences at the Ontario Pioneer Camp in Port Sydney, Ont., between July 2008 and July 2009.
He had been a volunteer counsellor at the Christian camp since 1997, Det. Bill McGarry told reporters Thursday.
The two boys are both under age 16, he said. Neither of the two lives in Toronto.
McGarry clarified that while Dewees was accused of soliciting sexual contact, police believed no actual touching occurred.
Police believed there were other victims.
Some school staff and social workers are expected to gather at Jarvis Collegiate Institute on Monday, and grief counsellors will be present to help students deal with the death, the paper said.
