Well to be super technical, dolphins (like the orca) belong to the Delphinoidea superfamily.
So taxonomy wise, no, they are not whales in the strictest scientific definition.
However, the word "whale" in the English language encompasses all marine mammals of the order Cetacea, so orcas can be called whales (even though they're technically not).

cool shit, feels like i just got a lesson but thx

i've always had a infatuation for killer whales...that stupid free willy movie got me all sentimental and shit.
