UNDATED—Japanese automaker Honda is having its own recall troubles.
Honda is recalling 140,000 of its small Fit subcompacts in the United States, as part of a worldwide recall involving the 2007 and 2008 models.
The problem could allow water to seep into the cars’ power window mechanism.
The Associated Press reports that one person in South Africa was killed last year in a car fire linked to the problem.
A Honda spokeswoman says no injuries have been reported in the U.S.
Still, customers are being urged to keep their windows rolled up during rain or snow, until the problem can be remedied.
