It's human nature not to react, it's self preservation. You use logic to weigh up the odds of coming out of a violent situation where you might die if you interupt it, and quickly decide fuck that. It's horrible cowardly and very shameful to do it, and will haunt you forever, but it's human nature. Nature to genuinely care about the person getting hurt, nature to ignore it, and nature to feel genuinely guilty afterwards.
There was a small thing that happened a few decades ago called ...erm... the Holocaust. That was one of these things blown out of all proportion. People could have spoke out, interupted (Before it got so huge). But people didn't give a fuck 'cos it wasn't happening to them. They didn't want to share the same fate. It's horrible but it's the art of survival. It's like a huge herd of Wildebeast running from a pack of lions and leaving a few weaker of their kind to their grim fate. Only difference is that the Wildebeast don't have a guilty conscience about it. That's the ball 'n chain that comes with intelligence.
In saying that though, there are some special people among us who are extremely brave and not afraid to fight, no matter what the odds against them. Some people call them heroes, I call them psycho's with suicidal tendencies, lol. Nah, they're the type of people we all wanna be, that's why we enjoy action movies so much (Especially Men), we see actors do things in movies that we wish we had the nuts to do in real life. It's something to aspire to.
I've kids and a wife now, i`m not risking my life for anybody, life never meant more to me. Fighting? I`m not even gettin into an argument these days, especially the way violent crimes is on the rise, fuck that.
