Postby <Stiiccy> » Mar 27th, '09, 08:36

Well the title speaks for it self...do you believe it was right that the bill got passed without 1 republican vote? personally i do...not saying the stimulus is bad...but it was an EPIC fail in democracy

Yeah...I don't think it was unconstitutional, however I'm not really an expert on the subject. Whether or not it was right is up to the individual I guess. I think that something had to be done, and the way things have been run prior to Obama getting into office were most definitely not the way out. So...I say go for it. If it doesn't work, it's probable that nothing would have anyway, and that it's all going down the shitter regardless of what happens.

Not unconstitutional, but the votes had no bipartisanship (in that Republicans basically had no say over this). But then again, the Republicans had had their run in office and congress and seeing how that went, I wouldn't mind having Democrats run a few years before seeing how things go.

Republicans didnt exactly have a republican congress the whole 8 years.
Democrats took the congress, and when confronted about the future problem with the housing market they said it was fine and that we don't need to "fix something that isnt broke"

So yeah, you can thank the democrats for working so hard to fuck up the housing reform act
And also for forcing banks to give out loans to those who couldn't afford to pay it back,
Hooray for socialism :n:

I don't see that as just a failure from the republicans, I see this as how badly Washington can be run when there's too much power in one party. I've been a democrat all my life, and honestly I'm pretty worried about democrats running shit.

Obama doesn't even seem to show any appreciation for bipartisanship.

It wasn't unconstitutional though, just should make Obama think twice about his crazy ass spending, which is probably what made no republicans vote for it.
