As much as I should and sometimes do have a grudge against the English, I have to admit the language is something I love. It has the largest vocabulary in all of world languages, estimated at 990,000 words and definitions, and another 25,000 get added each year (I knew about that, just checked the stats on wiki). This makes it the most colourful expressive language on the planet. It's also something that comes very natural to me, and I've always loved playing with words, whether poetry, anagrams or countdown (UK viewers will know about that

).
I think Yoshi saying it is easy, might be a little hard to believe for some.
here's one example I like of the diversity and difficulty in English.
Deer - Animal
Dear - Expensive
Dear - Beloved
Dare - Challenge
There - In that place
Their - It belongs to them
They're - They are
Those seven words are all pronounced the exact same way, yet all mean different things and are all spelt differently. I think this could be very confusing for foreign people just starting off, and even for people with English as their first language.
As much as I like the English language, I don't think making it a world monopoly would be a good idea. People should keep their roots and culture. Ireland has almost lost it's native language. We have our own Irish channel, but there is only one area of the country that it's not rare to see it spoken in public. Which is a huge pity, but I can't complain because I never liked learning it in school either.
