It's because they don't want to be lyrical on the verses, and than drop a simple hook, although its catchy, they don't care. IMO Being underground means "I simply don't give a fuck about catchyness". And I love that attitude, it turns me on. =P~

Exactly what do you define as a good hook? cause if you didn't mean catchy, than underground cats make crazy hooks.

a good hook is ...Catchy, has melody, makes sence, goes with the song, has to have great mixing...And most underground cats make dreadful awful fucking hooks...

I've heard a lot of mainstream rappers with garbage hooks to, so your not being fair there by only making underground rappers look bad.

never said underground rappers...i said Lyrical underground rappers RARELY have good hooks...not all of em... But thats understandable considering there main focus is on spitting a great verse...IMO McMaybe has a great balence...Hes shit is lyrical as fuck but still has that catchyness to make you listen to it more...It has alot to do with his production...

i think i see what Maybe did here, or maybe he didnt and i'm just seeing this for myself.

but the fact is, when someone drops a track in the audio stage, they might be original in content and simple in lyrics, and all the people who said they prefer originality will say that person is wack because the song is too simple, has no metaphors, doesnt have enough multies and etc.

as i've stated many times, i will easily take a simple yet original rapper over a lyrical one.

Are you talking about yourself?
Cause I don't count you as original at all, which is why I don't appreciate your songs much.
