Rakim wasn't even involved in that war, that just shows his no power, his only lyrics. IMO 2pac destroyed the east, Hit Em Up IMO is a lot better than "Nas - Either" alot more enjoyable, clubs in Australia till this day play that song. Either is more lyrical, but you act like Tupac is souljah boy or some shit, what pac ain't got lyrics? :confusion:

Yeah, but Rakim had no reason to, Tupac even said Rakim was the best in one of his songs I think, so why would Rakim even wan't to diss Pac. When I made this topic I was just talkin East vs West rap in general, not the whole Pac vs Big, Mobb Deep and any of that hit em up stuff. So who do you think better East vs West in general?

Why would Rakim even diss Pac? Well why did LL Cool J diss Pac when Pac mentioned him on Old School.
To me 2Pac is my favorite but I can't make him be the whole West Coast when I compare with the East Coast. East Coast has loads more skilled artists. West Coast has a few. Though I like to say West Coast is my fav but East Coast overall better.

And about the South... what about Scarface? or Outkast? OUTKAST???

Anyway, I hate judging Hip-Hop based on regions... Maybe it's 'cause the only person that reps my hood is E-40 :loudcry: ... But if we're talking overall, it has to be the East. It has to be New York. Too many great shit came out of there, and it was the birthplace of Hip-Hop.

that's because oakland is straight hood there's no rapping, it's just guns and gangs :smoking:

what always depresses me is that we have like The Queerville (SF) then right across we have Oaktown, that just does not work....

 Queerville...

It's not even just the guns and gangs though. It's the grillz, the dreads, the ghostride the whip, the whole image of the Bay. The hyphy movement died real quick for a reason. That shit was not attractive to other people outside of the city, and I can't blame them. :zipped:

yea i didn't feel it either so dont care much for it, plus a friend of mine is real big on bay area rappers and he let me listen to their shit and all they are is guns and gangsta rap, it's kinda old and annyoing and VERY unoriginal.

In seriousness though i agree i dont give a fuck where it's from, just about how it sounds. It just so happens that most music out the south sounds like fucking garbage.
