This isn't about governments.........back in the day when USSR invaded Afghanistan, the US hired scholars (Muslim scholars) to distort verses from the Quran and use them in brainwashing a younger, more vulnerable generation of muslims in order to create the mujahideen (what the US officials back then called freedom fighters). These "freedom fighters" were then trained in military tactics by Israeli Troops in Pakistan. Then they were supplied weapons by the US to go and fight and eradicate the communist "Devils" and "infidels". These same "freedom fighters" are now known as the Taliban or more commonly as terrorists. After the disintegration of the USSR both the US and Pakistani governments uptil 2001 made sure that the Taliban instead of the Northern Alliance remained the dominant force in Afghanistan. Now during all this time there were different governments in the US but the policy on Afghanistan remained the same.

And let me just add that the Taliban are just a group of mostly ignorant militants who don't know shit except firing a gun. They wouldn't have had the brains to have carried out such an operation. Now Al Qaeda on the other hand consisted of well educated, wealthy people who had at some point in their lives worked for the US. They could have planned such an attack but wouldn't have been able to carry it out without the financial aid of large corporations like Enron and the help of US intelligence agencies (and don't tell me the intelligence agencies couldn't have done such a thing. They have been known to carry out a lot of "unimaginable" acts.)

They are ignorant the same way American's are ignorant to other cultures and countries. If you are raised how they are raised you know nothing else then what you are told. Not to mention the religion they believe in, that all factors into who they are and why they are, whether it's wrong or not (we think it's wrong and they think it's right), you cannot change someone who knows nothing but what they have been told their entire lives. They don't live in "free" countries, not that we necessarily do after 9/11, but I hope you all understood my point.
