Everything Happens For A Reason...?

Postby ,-,'-{Bar}-',-, » Mar 17th, '07, 18:01

Its a common saying "everything happens for a reason" but do you beileive it ?

i must say i dont, i think its a silly thing that people use to help greive when someone passes away or they dont get a job or somehting, also the usualy interlink that saying with another common one " what is for you wont go by you" i disagree with that, when you are born your arent destined to beocme nothing your destined to reproduce and die, your life is what you make it not anyone else

Yeah, I guess I believe in destiny and that everything happens for a reason. Don't wanna get into all the details now, but a few things like that happened to me before. Maybe that was just a coincidence, a stroke of luck, maybe not. Wo'll probably never find out the truth anyway..

No..

I've asked this question ever since my mother died. Religious people use to tell me it did happen for a reason. But there is no reason, the change that happens to us after some event is the aftermath in pure sense, it just makes us stronger, but there is no other reason to be stronger in this life than to continue living. All consequences, some of these consequences arent deserved, some are the direct effect of our actions.

^ I kinda agree with Killa.

I don't think everything happens for a reason - people say that because they don't know what else to say. Sure, everybody has their own opinions. But if everything does happen for a reason, then that reason is cos we make it happen, by our choices, or by someone elses choices - not because of 'God' or whatever.

I don't know if any of you read much, but theres a cool book called "The Time Machine" by H.G. Wells. The dude who wrote the book touched the same question this thread asks in that book, where a man invents the time machine to go back in time and change the course of future, but he cant and his wife always dies, just in an other way like its meant to happen.

If this question really tickle the fancy of your brain cell's , i highly reccomend the book.

I just wanted to say this while i remembered it. :flower:

I agree with Killa and Asp - I don't think everything happens for a specific reason if this is to be interpreted as if there's some kind of master plan behind every individual's life, but our lives are a series of random events where we have to make choices and these choices affect and effect the next events and the direction in which our lives are heading - our lives are determined by ourselves and by other people's choices, not by some grand scheme behind it all

another question where u can't prove it to be true or not. i like to think theres no such thing as fate, but there a lot of weird coincidences that happen in the world. it really can't be proven one way or another cuz ur fate is what u do all the time. u can't avoid fate, even if u think u r thats still ur fate to do that. so its hard to say whether or not, but like i said i don't like to believe there is fate, that i make my own decisions

U can actually prove this to be true or not, the answer lies in the thing we call "TIME". We know that time is relative (to this point in our knowledge), if we went back in time and try to change the future the "fate" would become nothing but a word, although, from what ive read scientists just assume that there are a few things that can happen...

- split in dimention, in other words the moment u start changing something u create another dimention
- you are gonna be brought about to the same result by fate
- you just wont be able to go back in time lol.

but still, even if we cant change the future from a point of view of a person from the future of our present i still believe that, it all is consequence and people tend to fear consequence so they blame a "fate".

Weather u believe in it or not it dont matter. Its been proven that matter can appear out of nothing (the time when they discovered supernovas) also resulting in the "big bang theory" (which christians hate because they dont understand demonic science), which also brings us about to the theory of relativity of time and space.
