I agree that terrorism is bad, but terrorism is NO excuse to lock up Muslims just because they're Muslims. That's racism. Blatantly innocent people have been locked up for months at a time in that hell hole and it was based primarily on their race. If you catch someone doing some sort of terrorist act then sure, throw their ass in the slammer, but that's not what Guantanamo Bay had become. It was a shining beacon of ignorance and fear. We were denying AMERICAN CITIZENS their rights to trials at all (let alone speedy ones). Their rights to contact their loved ones. All of it, just because we got caught off guard and felt like we needed to blame someone. Never mind the fact that while that prison was open and holding innocent people there were mother fuckers still trying to ram planes into shit down in FL I believe, so what good was it really doing?

With all the maximum security federal prisons in this country something like that was unnecessary unless it was specifically designed to ignore the rights that have been in place in this country damn near since its conception. I can't, no matter what the situation, agree with a government being racist just because they made poor decisions and don't have a viable scapegoat.
