On the real though, I haven't checked out Macklemore's music. I always hear good things about his work... so I might check it out soon.

Best thing about him are his voice and his concepts.

I'm not even going to dignify trimms' blaspheme with any sort of rebuke.

Please, insult me. :'(

Seriously though, I like Eyedea more than any of the guys I listed. I never really tried to check their albums though, just some songs here and there.
I feel like I'd end up depressed. Or I might just not understand the concepts, just like.. Glasshouse by Slug I think? Is it called like that?

The story is actually about Iraq or something, and I'm just kinda too dumb to notice stuff like that. So i can't appreciate them like I should.

Can't edit.

I like Macklemore though, and The Heist. Same Love is an amazing song, I don't think a lot of rappers have the balls to make stuff like that.

I doubt anyone noticed that until they heard it from Slug's mouth.

That song is amazing without the Iraqi war concept anyway.

The song is great but I feel like Id be missing the concepts and stuff.

Ill give Lemons a listen though. I have it on my to listen list for a long time. Oh and in the OP i meant 'that doesnt mean i think he is better' as MGK, not 'they' lol. Just to be clear.

That comment has been taken out of its context though. Lmao

I feel with songs like that you can love them/find them amazing and it's not always necessary to understand the "other concept".

It's just how you interpret the song and how it speaks to you.

And then later, when you find out it has another meaning or whatever, it just adds to the brilliance of the song.
i.e. The artist was able to speak to you in a certain way and also have other meanings to the song.

This. And yeah, nobody would have gotten that from glasshouse without that interview.

Slug has said many times that he leaves his songs open for interpretation. He doesn't want them defined as 'about this' or 'about that' in most cases. He believes it limits the depth and overall value of the song.

I'm listening to When Life Hands You Lemons.. as I'm posting this. I love the first track so far, Like The Rest of Us. It's chill.. The atmosphere(nopun) of the song.

I really liked it. He's not actually boring like I thought he was. It was just that I never tried to get into Slug's music.. I will surely do now.

Will listen again. My favorites are The Glass House which is honestly just EPIC, Painting and Can't Break.
