Maybe you have to play with some settings on the stereo. Just play with the equalizer on it and see what sounds good.

What do you mean doesnt sound as good?

Clarity, volume, bass..? Were you running back shelf speakers in your old car? They're generally much more powerful than door speakers. Is your new car a lot bigger than your old one or the same size?

Was your old car a smaller coupe? Those tend to give you a really good sound.
Sedans for example iare horrible though.

Still sounds like your head unit is shit. As it seems, you said your still have another from the old car. Try using that one once. See if it changes anything.
