The mixer is the console. Here is the preceedure.

Microphone connects to a line in on your console.
Console's line out lines go to your PC's soundcard's line in. (you need an RCA-to-Jack cable)
Raise Master potentiometer from the console.
Raise the potentiometer that applies to your microphone.

For starters bar, you need a condenser microphone, a mixer makes as a pre amplifier, that has a mini equalizer and effects send/attack release of gain, and master controls for operating each appliance seperatly, the point is, you need a pre amp, or mixer, i personaly use a pre amp hooked to my commpressor, and the compressor is hooked to the mixer.

so the mic i got wont work ? coz it aint condensor , well im sure its not , its the type coccoa talked about but i dunno the name of it
