Akala

Love Akala - just has a great delivery and I enjoy his content. Not the best rhymer but It's Not A Rumour was such a well put-together album - he knows when to keep songs simple and when not to.

Wretch 32

Listened to about 4 songs. He's not terrible but his music bores the shit out of me.

Kano

Used to really enjoy his music back in the day. I listen to him now and there's nothing really there that stands out about him anymore though. He has a few good songs but aside from that, I don't think he's that great

Chipmunk

Atrocious. Even his 'underground' stuff was shitty.

"What kind of man calls a rap song Oopsy Daisy?" - Lowkey basically said everything I need to say in 'The Warning'.

Lady Sovereign

Embarrasing, and I've only heard like 2 songs.

N Dubz

The epitome of terrible UK hip-hop. Everything about them is awful - from their lyricisim, to embarrasing personalities, to pure terrible music. Shit.

Federer is GOAT and I don't care how many times people bring up that Nadal beats him these days. Nadal is in his prime and Federer is past his prime.

When and if Nadal is 30 years old and STILL winning Grand Slams/competing in Grand Slam finals against the current #1, then he is a contender for GOAT.

Fully agree about Murray. He can destroy pretty much anyone on his day, but you have to have a fair share of luck to beat Nadal, Fed or even Djokovic, especially right now. Murray probably put in the game of his life at the French Open semis and lost in straight sets. Nadal can turn it on when he needs to.

And no doubt. The fact Federer stopped Djockovic's 43-game unbeaten run at age of 30 is insane. Winning grand-slams at his age is amazing. We'll see how Nadal does in 8 years time but I can't see him being at Fed's level. His game revolves on energy, hence why he's do good on clay, and once he loses that (bound to happen) he'll lose so much of his game

Compliment.

C.R.E.A.M wrote:What's your favorite BME HTS track ?

Reunion

If you were asked to pick 10 albums to listen to for the rest of the year, what'll you pick ?

SSLP, MMLP, TES, Disposable Arts, A Long Hot Summer, God's Son, 36 Chambers, It Was Written, Soundtrack To The Struggle (when it's released...) and Black Starr

Do people using huge vocabularies and perfect grammar make them smarter or pretentious ? How is that decided ?

If they're using it in the correct way, then it's not pretentious. It's when it's used for the sake of it that it becomes pretentious

How would you define "Lyricism" ?

The use of words

Is that thread about Relapse being the best Eminem album "Lyrically" correct ? Thoughts on that ?

Two things wrong with it:

1. OP seems to think multies = lyricism, which is wrong.

2. Even if it did mean that, SSLP, MMLP & TES all have better use of multies than Relapse

Do you find multi's in Slim Shady LP more smoother than multi's in Marshall Mathers LP ?

Yep, they sound more effortless and crisp.

What's your favorite Eminem voice ?

MMLP/Devil's Night

Your top 3 rappers by Delivery ?

Nas
Black Thought
Eminem

Thoughts on Tupac Shakur ?

Talented, but had a lot shitty material. He was good lyricist but an average rhymer.

Other genres you listen to besides Hip Hop, and your favorite non-rappers musicians

I've never fully got into other genres. Marvin Gaye & Bob Dylan probably.

Do you care about good music more than lyrics in a rap track ?

Depends how bad the lyrics are/how bad the music is. I'd say lyrics.

Your favorites of TRShady's own rappers ?

I've only really fully listened to Kez, so Kez.

Who are your influences as a writer/rapper ?

Eminem, Nas, Lowkey, Talib Kweli, Masta Ace are the main ones.

I have nothing wrong with rappers celebrating black success - I think it's great, in fact. But I just find the execution of the song laughable. I honestly can't take it seriously.

The chorus and intro make it seem like a comedy song/parody when it's not. Along with lines like:

"Personally when he won his mercury... I thought "well done""

"When they won the brits I was like "brrraap, black boys up in this bitch"

I think Bashy is a bit of a cock, and the song is shitty. This parody shows that it's stupidly executed:

I know you're a huge fan of SSLP's multi's, but don't you think TES had the most impressive ones?

You're in charge:
- Eminem's next album - skits or not skits?
- Features in his next album?
- You need to pick three tracks from Relapse/Recovery and Eminem will write to the same standard in the next album, which tracks would they be?
- You get to choose his flow. It has to be from 2009 onwards, what flow would you make him use?
- Would this be a near classic drop?

When will you be recording?

Do your mates know you write? Are they impressed?

How comes you don't really text battle?

Thoughts on Mic Righteous?

Favourite non hip-hop artist/group?

If you had a choice to collab with three rappers, all in their prime, who would they be? Who would produce the best verse in your opinion?

TES probably had more intricate rhyme schemes but they're not quite as smooth or effortless. They're still amazing though.

Skits

- Features in his next album?

Nas

- You need to pick three tracks from Relapse/Recovery and Eminem will write to the same standard in the next album, which tracks would they be?

Deja Vu, My Mom, Underground, So Bad, Going Through Changes, LTYWL

- You get to choose his flow. It has to be from 2009 onwards, what flow would you make him use?

Deja Vu - smooth

- Would this be a near classic drop?

Depends how the album flowed, but I can imagine it being great.

When will you be recording?

Dunno if it will tbh. Might get a mic in the summer but it depends on money.

Do your mates know you write? Are they impressed?

Nah, I only really do it for myself - I enjoy writing and helps my overall English (vocab etc)

How comes you don't really text battle?

Never something that interested me tbh

Thoughts on Mic Righteous?

Heard his Fire In The Booth a while back and he's pretty good, never checked out his music though.

Favourite non hip-hop artist/group?

Dunno really, there's no real groups outside of rap I enjoy.

If you had a choice to collab with three rappers, all in their prime, who would they be? Who would produce the best verse in your opinion?

Eminem, Nas & Lowkey.

I'd produce the best verse...

What do you like so much about the lyricism in LTWYL? Example?

^ Awesome explanation. I appreciate you taking the time to showcase that. :y:

Using Talking 2 Myself to showcase the difference worked very well. The structure is ridiculously different. I've always appreciated some of the rhyming on LTWYL but never really thought about the structure of the verses. What you said about the creative rhyming is also a very valid point that I never took much notice of.

Thanks for that, Amadeo. :y:

Federer is just a god. Plays tennis the way it should be. I'd like to see Murray win a major.

I'm no tennis expert but I always thought that Murray was very unlucky he's playing in the Federer/Nadal era. Would have definitely been #1 at one point or another if they weren't around.

Not to mention, head to head can be a misleading stat anyway. Federer may have a bad record against Nadal, but he has a better record against the rest of the field than Nadal does. Plus, most of their meetings have been on clay. It would be a lot closer (if not even/advantage Federer) if they'd played more often on other surfaces.

Style-wise it's not even close for me. Federer's game is brilliant to watch. Nadal plays great defense but most of his game is just making his opponent play badly rather than hitting winners.

I think Murray's too good not to win a Grand Slam. He'll get over the hump eventually. Agassi had the "choke artist" label early in his career, too.

I don't remember much of Em's or Royce's verse. Apart from the hoes and boat punchlines from Em.

C.R.E.A.M wrote:Name some tracks from MMLP and TES that you think that can rival SSLP in terms of rhyming. If there is

Criminal, Drug Ballad, Sing For The Moment, White America, Till I Collapse.

It's hard though, it's a different type of rhyming - TES is more intricate (arguably more complex), SSLP is smoother and more crisp.

I agree with TES being more complex. :y:

Federer or Murray, realistaically.

But I'd like Soderling or Tsonga, unrealistically.

Other than Lowkey's album, which other rapper's album are you really looking forward to drop?

Masta Ace's MA Doom album
