I respect the original post. If it's called soccer in your country then that's perfectly fine for you to call it that. Besides calling it football myself i do like the term soccer.

Football is the biggest world sport and originated in my home county in England with Notts County & Sheffield FC.

It's true, but the rules are much more different. (ex: you can't tackle someone who hasn't the ball in rugby, you can't pass the ball to the player who's not behind you, etc..)

Of course it was going to be outlawed, what idiot would want to play a sport where your objective is to tackle another player. And don't bother saying soccer is the same, in reality, soccer's objective is to capture the ball, and defend your goalpost.

I guess NFL players could have some skill, but all they really depend on is endurance. Soccer players are the same, but like Menzo said, they require mental thinking.

Oh wow, a playbook. A lineman isn't going to look at a running backs play. They focus on their own path. Whereas in soccer, a player has to determine HIMSELF how he's going to get the ball in the goal.

American football is more physically (excluding stamina) and mentally demanding than association football ever has been, and ever will be.
