I'm not offended, even though I shape my life around the study of it. Sure, I'm a bit confused/angry that they said that, but I'm not offended.

Same should go with religion. If you base your life around something, prepare to get "offended", I guess. If that makes sense. You let yourself get offended if someone bashes a doctrine you prescribe yourself to.

No, the same shouldn't go for religion.

If your profession is in astronomy and someone continues to disrespect YOUR occupation, you would be offended. Don't say you won't, you would - that job defines who you are, just like religion can define a person.

As far as religion I believe a certain thing and what the next person believes doesn't bother me because i'm comfortable with my beliefs.
