For the most part all the laws that apply to alcohol will apply here as well. You can't walk around the streets with a visible beer can.

I think cigarette laws should apply, like 18+ and not inside public buildings and transport. But if I want to stand next to a cigarette smoker and smoke a blunt then I should be allowed.

Australia has some ridiculous drug laws.

Anyway, it only applies to being in public, on public property. You can get a charge for that, but they generally only target drunks. College campuses and sporting events usually get a pass on the open container laws.

Right now I go to college in Whittier, and I'm from Sacramento. Sac kinda made an effort to enforce it, but it's like that law doesn't even exist in Whittier.

Some, perhaps. But the vast majority I highly doubt.

We are very quick to introduce new laws but they aren't always necessarily enforced. The state I live in, New South Wales, has to be the worst state in Australia and I bet it would be stricter than certain states of America. However, your federal drug laws (particularly Cannabis) are appalling.

I remember there was a time when I was shocked to find out how AUS had made practically everything illegal. Things as simple as HBWR seeds...what about Kava? Is it still banned for import, or did they finally lift that?

I will say that I like the fact that state law overrides federal law in AUS. That's more American than, well, America.
