I don't know, having a normal job is being a slave of society to him.

dude you can go to work and have a good life aside what kind of pessimistic view is that SMH also I don't think a lot of people would rather be homeless than have a house and a 9/5 job.

I get what Hage is saying.

He's not saying you're without choices, but rather your choices are limited to a certain type of cycle, regardless of what you decide. Of course, this only applies to a certain extent, but it's definitely a valid view. That's not to say that going to college and making a better life for yourself isn't valid, or less free, but it does fit the mold of what society expects of you from the moment you're born until you die.

You trade your time and energy for money, the money for housing and food, so that you may live. It all comes down to what you value. If you find value in owning things, amassing wealth, or even having a family to provide for, then it isn't just day to day thing for you. If you do not, then you might as well be working for sustenance alone, which is what the modern definition of slavery is.

Anyway, obviously being homeless isn't something that people should strive to achieve...but freedom is a subjective thing. Most find freedom in being able to afford what they want, to not worry about food, and to have the ability to go and do as they please when they aren't working. Others look at having no responsibilities, and see that as the ultimate freedom, regardless of whether or not it's an ideal situation.

Different strokes, and all that shit.

Well of course, life is not a charity.

A lot of countries wouldn't have been countries if the ruler/explorer were a lazy fuck who only wanted to find a well full of gold, water...etc
I'm just saying that as long as you're satisfied and happy with what you're doing, you're not a slave, you're just a human being trying to get by.

Oh of course, that's what I'm saying as well.

It's all subjective. I'm not advocating for being a charity case, I'm just saying that I understand the draw of being more or less free of the daily grind...even if it means roughing it. My idea would be more along the lines of a heavily fortified compound out in the woods, but hey, one man's cabin is another man's alleyway.

You'd be surprised how far you could come without a single buck.

But that's because you're dumb and have a wrong point of view about society. Try to be homeless for like one week and you'll see if you'd rather live like that or live in a routine. Chett acts all cool but I'm sure he hates being homeless, which is normal.

Chett, I like you, but I don't think you'll ever be able to get your daughter back if you're homeless. You should find some money, a job or anything you can in order to pay a rent and get a job, no matter how bad it is. I know it sounds easy when I say it and it's really not, but if you wanna have your daughter I think that legally you have to be stable enough to keep her. Which is not the case.

But you can go through this man. Hope for the best. Good luck!

Very true. Being homeless is a party at first (booze, drugs, hanging out with friends 24/7, sex, food)

But then it just becomes another dead end cycle and people get hooked on hard drugs. Like I'll even be real with everyone here, I'm currently 10 days clean and sober from bad bad drugs. I been on the shit the last couple of months, and it's been rough.

Yeah it's a rough life, and I'm currently getting on my feet. Just sent off the paper work to get my Birth certifcate, and when I get that I'm getting my id. Then I can look for a job!!!

& my girlfriend is trying to find work here, so she can move here and I can live with her.

Yay a smart convo actually happened in this thread

He's a pretty good read, but god, who'd wanna be such an asshole?

Nah, his stuff is pretty interesting from what I've seen. He's very negative, to the point that it even makes me feel a little depressed...but maybe that's just because I feel like he was right. You have any recommendations for specific works by him to check out?

Well that's some good news. No one here really knew what you were up to but I'm pretty sure everyone who was worried feels a little better knowing all of this.

Stay away from the drugs until you get a job I'd say, because it might stop you from getting one especially if they're doing blood test. Also your girlfriend seems like a great person and it's cool that she's helping you so much so don't fuck up lol.

Hope everything goes well man.

Actually, blood tests are generally used to determine whether or not you're currently under the influence. Urine tests are better for determining long-term use than blood, with just about every drug except for Barbiturates. It's a common misconception that I thought I'd correct you on, completely ignoring all of the nice things and good advice that you were relaying to Chet.

Hair tests, are of course, the best for determining long-term use. It's 90 days for almost everything, except for alcohol. PCP and most common anti-depressants aren't detectable by a hair test at all, but they are by Urine/Blood/Saliva...which, by the way, happens to be a descending list of my favorite bodily fluids.

Stay off that Smack Chet. You'll be OK, we've all been pulling for you. It's been a long couple years, but you'll make it out alive.
