Listen to Rigamortis too, it's pretty obvious from that song what I mean. Dude is on another level when you notice how every little word is used for a specific purpose.
Try listening to his Control verse after you get the hang of it (so to speak). He's got some great rhyming on that too, even though it seems pretty simple at first.
Yeah on first listen I noticed some great rhymes, like on his "peddlin' sin / devilish grin" "aliens/ maybe when" part. (I think it's maybe when, might be wrong, but something there rhymes lol) and they're smooshed in the bars like Em does.

Who gives a shit if his bars don't dont in 5 syllable multis? He usually has at least two schemes going on at any given time.
Like his vibe remix. Listen to that and tell me his rhyming isn't top notch.
Exactly there's more to being a good rhymer than quantity of multies, Vinnie Paz and Diabolic used to rhyme a shit ton of syllables but have the same boring and predictable ZzzzZZZZzz flow going on so I don't give a shit. There' s so many varying factors as to what makes a great rhymer from how many diffrent rhyme schemes used, and how creative you are with your rhymes.
I can kind of get the anti-Kendrick sentiment and can easily see why people find him overrated. But outright find him mediocore is just dumb, he's a great songwriter, and has great hooks, delivery, flow. The whole nine yards as well as bieng conceptually great, I don't like his stupid wordplay and don't think he's that great of a hot 16 rapper though.
Honestly I understand why people don't like him because I didn't at all at first. Once you get over rhyme scheme and punchline rap though you realize Kendrick's genius. He's better at using words than almost anyone alive right now besides Slug. His story telling is phenomenal "Me and my niggas four deep in a white Toyota A quarter tank of gas, one pistol, and orange soda Janky stash box when the federales roll up Basketball shorts with the Gonzales Park odor" He doesn't just tell you a story, he lets you see the story through his eyes and feelings. He builds a world for you and lets you experience it. It's incredible. You can also tell that everything he says about coming from the streets and being a gangsta is genuine because he doesn't glorify it at all. He realizes, from actually being in that situation, that's it's not a good thing at all and is constantly talking about trying to escape from it. His music is so honest and gives a realistic perspective on black youth in the hoods. That's why he's refreshing. And honestly, I don't know how you can objectively call his music monotonous. It's the complete opposite of monotony. He's constantly switching up his flows and delivery so that his music never gets stale. If this is monotonous then NOTHING isn't.
Even in that song you can see his lyricism and honesty. It's a completely different perspective than anything in rap.
You think your personal attacks make up for what you lack?
Yeah calling montonous makes me ? He's as far from monotonous as can be, he's always switching up his schemes, flow or delivery. That said Money Trees>*
Also am I the only one that thought Anna Wise on the bridge (which is amazing btw) was black first time I heard it?
