Learn how to mix vocals. That's huge. It's a very important part of being a rap artist.

Also, not needed AS much, but it's pretty crucial IMO, learn how to make beats. I have so much respect for rappers who make their own beats. It's not an easy skill to learn. Fuck, I'm still a beginner of beat-making. It's fun too.

It all depends on who's in your circle, I mean eventually you'll want someone who'll bring your music to the next level when you're unable to, but until that point in time it's good to do it on your own unless you're in a hurry. But having more input into your work is always the better option.
