So it's under you and your friends name because if it was just under your name all you would have had to do is call the police and get a copy of agreement and they'd escort your so called friends out.

There is a lease you're probably month to month now, when u got the place you probably signed a one year agreement and it's up now, anyway if you don't know ask, well you should actually ask anyway because you don't know what the agreement is.
