not to start an argument but I actually disagree with this. Daft punk and Eminem for example are easy as fuck to listen too and just grab you right away, while you're right some artists are acquired tastes and require repeated spins to truly enjoy. I find artists like the beatles and TVU to the be the former, unless you're from like a technical death metal background or whatnot.

I didn't mean like I didn't understand them or something, I guess it's just me but I've never fallen in love with an artist on a first listen and it's always been a gradual thing. idk maybe I'm different.

I guess, you fell in love with eyedea and atmosphere gradually and kdot ofc...

I fell in love with Daft punk and Kdot and Daft punk right away, though CC required some multiple spins.

Yeah, maybe it's my inability to concentrate that makes it so I have to listen to something so much before I really like it

You have to remember Yeezus and 808's are extremely polarising.

I think I'm slightly blinded by how new it is but I think James Holden's The Inheritors will go down as one of my favourite albums of all time. It came out this year but my brain has never been as flexed as it is everytime I listen to it.

One of my all time favourites is Terry Riley's A Rainbow in Curved Air just for the simple fact that an electroacoustic/neoclassical record in the 70s put forth a sound striving for 'indifference' as an emotion with a melody but without unnecessarily making it dark, a feat I think no one has even come to.

do you prefer Evil Empire over RATM? Interesting...

My top 4 (3, let's put the two Manu Chao's together) made it there because I think there was a "before" and "after" them. There was nothing like RATM before that

I prefer RATM, but I mentioned Evil Empire since I saw it on your list, love them both though. Also The Battle of Los Angeles.

There will never be another Lou Reed. He was a one of a kind musical artist. TVU is my second favorite Velvet Underground album as well.

Do you like Lou's song Street Hassle?

Word up, his voice is so engrossing...

My stepdad actually hates the velvet underground but loves just about every Dadrock band out there, I feel like disowning him. :'(

Also I bought my mom the velvet underground self titled album, one if the first cd purchases I made in a loooong time.

Annnd bjork is cool btw
