But yeah modest mouse is a must if you like that indieish sound and the songwriting is somewhat similar though I'll admit they don't exactly sound the most similar musically, so if that's what attracted to nmh than dunno... Maybe you'd like funeral by arcade fire....

I don't doubt that you'd like TVU (self titled album though), Lou Reed is GOAT. I definitely see his influence in John darnielle.
