You should check him out. I personally don't listen to him much, but I respect his grind and some of his songs are dope. He won a contest to get his music on MTV and opened for Kendrick Lamar with Dr. Dre in attendance. He posts a lot on KTT. Dude is the perfect example of a "forum rapper" doing it right (and he doesn't confine himself to forums, he's in the real world making moves too).

I can tell he's actually working toward something. I suppose checking him out sometime wouldn't hurt. Opened for Lamar and Dre was in attendance? That's crazy lol.

If members of a forum that has a sub par audio scene doesn't approve of your music, no one in the public will. So start off improving your music even more, learn how to use Photoshop (your covers are terrible man), and don't attempt to shoot music videos. Well, at least don't release them. Practice filming in private, because at the moment that video was pretty embarrassing if you want it to be taken seriously.

Damn dude that's what I'm talking about. You've been doing the same shit for years and have never even researched how to be successful? C'mon. If you REALLY want this, you aren't acting like it. And I forget who said it, but a famous artist said friends are the worst critics because they are never 100% honest.

To be frank, from what I've heard, your music will never be successful on any level. That said, that's only from what I've heard. I have 0 inkling to what you are capable of. If you apply yourself, who knows what you can do? Kanye locked himself in his room, studying music and working it like a 9 to 5 job.

Start reading books on the industry. Study. Look at artists who made it and see what they did. Learn how to actually produce and get good quality. From what I've seen, you never use effects or anything. Learn how to EQ, understand compression, be able to layer vocals. Learn to write original lyrics that aren't ripoffs of other rappers. Study song structure, a chorus is more than repeated words.

But yeah, I get some idea...But torturing myself isn't gonna solve anything, yes I have more paths with music,. I got many side projects, I got a few real life jobs and shit, but the only thing I think that will really get the ball rolling is rap.

I seriously want this to work, it's now or never really, I'll never stop music though, even when I'm old and failed at everything..I'll still be there yapping my mouth.

That's a horrible plan TBH, to count on a rap career. I'm not saying don't go for it, but for every rapper earning a living, there are 1000s who failed.

You should really have a back up career. Not a minimum wage job or "side projects' but a genuine career. You don't want to wake up when you're 30 (which is what, 6 years away for you?) and still depending on family.

It's threads like this that are a perfect example of why people don't come here as much anymore, and why half the awesome members have left or faded into limbo. Back in the day a thread like this would have been told to fuck off immediately, not given validation. Remember Coccoa? Most of you probably don't. Your problem (which isn't surprising when you prefer a forum about fucking Kanye West) is that you are focused on monetary means and success. You clearly don't give two fucks about what music is really about. If you can say one thing about people who make music here it's that they do it out of love for it. People here have been making music for years. Do you honestly think everyone here thinks they'll become famous? Fuck no. I for one have no plans related to that. I make music because creativity is a nagging little voice that never shuts the fuck up.

I was thinking about that.

Most forumers on here don't even visit the audio section, we always get the same members feeding the things that are posted (not saying it's bad or they're wack, not at all) and once we get someone else posting, it's usually to show their own track without helping the other ones and then they don't post because people don't feed their threads.

Like, feeding one track once a month just to post their shit isn't a good thing.

If you want this place to be better with rappers, just support it. Criticize as hard as you can but by making points on every thing that you think is wrong on a track, simple as that. That's why the audio section is there.

We got some dope rappers in here, Kez, Big Ax, Sajjad, Solace, and we got begginers but at one point, the dope ones were begginers too. But they eventually got dope.

And the fact that the tracks don't have a "mainstream" sound doesn't make it bad tbh.


Cosh, Sweet Tooth, Blu, Cream, y'all never post in the audio section so... Even if it's to criticize because the track is bad, do it. That's how people improve.
