No joke, Meth will make you drop weight like you're belemic. It speeds your metabolism right up. Sitting still on meth burns as many calories as a sober person exercising for 15 minutes.

Also you lose all your appetite.

I was underweight all my life, really underweight - my family was pretty poor.

After I had my daughters (5) I stupidly got hooked on colas and then of course depression (I have chronic depression).

Yeah I'm back to where I need to hit the gym but I don't want to and what I don't want to do - well, it won't happen, so.. my girls can hint or nudge me and .. it's not going to happen - I am the queen of digging in my heels.

Here is what I did do and it has helped:

- Get a very nice container for water. I got a cool one from Kmart with fish on the outside and I carry it to/from work with me.

- I quit my coffee mess and stop carrying cash (no cash, no colas). I give my girls my debit card (so I can't get fast food) - till I need gas or groceries. Then one comes with me.

- We went almost totally vegan and I shop Sunday, Wednesday, Friday. Why? Fruit and Veggies. My rule is 3 fruits a day, and I try for 4. Space them out.

- Get rid of sugar if you can.

- We fry nothing, we eat lentils, brown rice, veggies, and got rid of using condiments.

- We DO eat out 2 times per month - as a Perk. The days I can have cola.

It's about slowly changing what you eat, and it takes time and dedication. Allow yourself like 2 days a month to eat something you like, but control it - okay?

Take a walk near a park, find reasons to move.

You do not have to do this the hard way, do it easy, fun and slow. You want this to be a life long change...

I like the fruit, I bring it in, sit it on my desk and it is so nice to look at through the day. I feel proud. Then my decanter of water of green tea (no sugar) on my desk.

Yeah - I need to walk... I figure I start on Saturdays and get some duck food and hit up that park near us. Take my phone for some snap shots.... send to my daughter in Texas.

And keep a journal of how you feel about all of this - maybe vent so you don't eat.

It's a long road, and you can walk it by taking a step at a time but pause, rest when you need to.

Lello, you should drink a lot of water. When I was diagnosed with diabete (not from being fat, it's the other type), one of the symptom was drinking lots of water. I use to drink like 6/7 liters of water a day AT LEAST (not even kidding, sometimes it went above 10 liters) during a week. I lost like 5/6 kgs during that time.

Try to drink at least 2 liters a day.

Just have a bottle of water whereever you go and drink whenever you want to :y: also i havent read the whole thread but do you go the the gym at all? If you are eating food and then just trying to burn it up by doing cardio, maybe you can turn any excess stuff into muscle instead of fat.. you wont be losing any weight by doing that doing that though, you would just be changing what it is.

Also i dont know what you do about this already or how may times it has been said but what do you do about meal times? you dont have 3 meals a day, do you? :unsure:


Edit: i looked through and it looks like this has kind of been said but i will say it anyway
Your body will only burn so much food each time you eat. I dont knw the precise numbers (they vary person to person) but lets assume it is 300g each time you eat. And normally people would eat 450g per meal, 3 times a day. If you change it to, for example, 5 meals at 300g, you will be eating more than you otherwise would but there will be no excess food from each meal to turn into fat. Now if you want ot lose weight quicker it could go down to 250g per meal or 4 meals instead of 5, but thats the general idea. Eat as much as your body will burn up, wait untill that is gone then do it again (a sandwich every 3-4 hours is what i do). That, along with weight training means anything that is excess will go into muscle, and you should start to lose the fat a bit quicker.

Also bear in mind that when your metabolism is higher, you will burn up fod easier. Exersizing by doing football etc. is all well and good but will only raise your metabolism while you exersize and for 30 mins/ an hour afterwards. So eating before you exersize (not so that your'e sick, an hour or 90 minutes is good) or eating immediately after exersize (but once again, not in a way that makes you sick) is going to be the best way to make sure you dont have any excess food that turns into fat or anything. Each of the meals i do is either about 90 minutes before or immediately after exersize (i do cycling in the morning (paper round), workoutaround midday and then a run every other evening, after dinner). Because i have the routine of exersize i have got to the point now where my metabolism stays insanely high all the time but that isnt very common :whistle:

also i have my 500ml bottle that i keep on me everywhere i go, i get through that 3-5 times a day, as well as drinks with meals... pleanty of water :y: and i dont have any alcohol so i dont gotta worry about the effects of that

My diet and stuff is based around keeping fat low and gaining muscle but the principles of it are the same as lowering fat levels, so maybe that will help. Sorry if i just repeated things everyone else has said, i only really had time to read the first page... and hope this helps :y:

Calories matter more than the a mount of food yeah, i worded that badly, but the amount does have a bit of an affect. And yeah i understand the bit about the gym, makes sense :p

Same, that kinda inspired me. It's been a full week now that I run everyday, at least 30 minutes and work out. This time I won't stop. :y:
