This is the type of situation I was referring to.

I'd honestly like to know more about the reason why children are born into poverty so frequently in third world countries, also. Is it simply a matter of lack of access to contraception and domineering men?

Not really. Children are usually loved in third world countries, because families are usually worth a lot for the people, and all they want are children and grandchildren. They don't think "politics" when creating a baby. If they want kids, they will have kids, no matter their situation, because it gives them joy in life to have a son/daughter. Someone they can care for. Because what else do they have?
