Beats by Dre - are they worth it?

I'm thinking about getting a pair of Beats by Dre (not too sure what variant yet).

I've been reading that for the same price, you can get better headphones and Beats are just "overpriced". I'm not clued up on the headphone market so I don't know how valid those claims are.

Does anyone have Beats? Do you think they were worth the money?

i got myself some studio beats, and theyre pretty good but i got them for less than half price.. they definately arent worth the RRP. If you can get them for around half price, its a good deal. Anything more than that, and its probably worth getting some other headphones... and of course try them before you buy them. Spending a load of money only to find out that a pair of headphones are uncomfortable is just not cool

I think Beats by Dre are more of a fashion item. Honestly, I have a nice pair of ordinary headphones, and they work well for me.
